I have this fitted in my symbol but it just acts as a grill rather than oven. Isthere an oven I can replace it with where the gas element comes from the bottom so the food cooks rather than grills??

Why not take a look at the Remoska?

I don't know how big the oven/grill in your Symbol is, but I suspect that the issue may be that the space available is not big enough for a proper cooking oven.

My (non A-S) van originally had a small oven, but it wasn't a proper one, and was described as a "warming oven". It doesn't appear to be big enough to have the full burner assembly and adequate insulation to run as a full-blown cooker. I replaced it with a microwave.

We have the same Spinflo and entirely sympathise!! Having said that, the cook has turned out some excellent meals so I asked the secret. She says to always preheat the oven, then turn down the burner before putting the food in. Keep a close eye on it, and sometimes accept a little charring on top!!

Thanks, will try that as there doesn't seem to b an alternative. I looked at a symbol for sale the other day which had a caprice 2020 which had separate grill and oven and fits more or less the same space as mine but can't seem to find one to buy.
