I need advice as hubby would like a motorised scooter but I need advice on getting one into the van. I have a duetto. If anyone has a mobility scooter I would like to know what sort and how you get it in the van. Many thanks

Hi
My wife has a TGA Eclipes which has been an excellent buy. It is a very well thought out engineering vehicle, and breaks down into four very manageable parts. The batteries come off in one unit, then the rear wheels and drive motor come away from the main chassis. and the seat comes off very simply.
When we had a Duetto we used a large Fiamma Box on the cycle rack, but it involved quite a bit of lifting. In the Executive I can store it all inside the van, broken down into its four parts
If you have a Towbar you could always use a small trailor.
This make and model sells new from about £800. We have been very pleased with it and have had it for about 5years and only have had to replace the batteries.
Hope this is of some help to you,
Andy,

Thank you that is just the sort of I info I'm looking for. Would it sit fully assembled behind the passenger seat?

Hi there,
My Mum had one similar to this and my brother stuck it into the boot of his Vauxhall Astra Estate; so I can see no reason why it wouldn't ride behind the passenger seat of a Duetto.

One thing you will need though is either muscles like a Russian shot-putter or a set of ramps to be able to get the scooter up into the Duetto without dismantling it!! The ramps are not cheap, as can be seen in the attached!!

Make sure that they are of a suitable length to get the scooter up into the Duetto.
Hope this helps.
Best regards,
