High battery drain
Has anyone any idea why the control panel shows the leisure battery drain high when everything is switched off. Could it be a faulty MES control panel as this is being replaced next week (because it switches itself off randomly).

Re: High battery drain
I'm not familiar with the MES units, but if it has a bank of fuses for the van's 12V appliances, pull them all out (noting which values go where first!). If the current drain is still showing, it's almost certainly a fault with the control unit.
If it drops to zero, it's likely that you have an appliance taking power when it should not be.

Thanks Mo-jo
Took all fuses out and drain still shows max so another one for the dealer to sort out next week. Pehaps replacing the MES will sort it and the temperature display and levelling guide in one hit. If not I will wait for the lame excuses (I'm sure they will be most helpful).
Strange thing. Just after I bought the 'van they sent me a survey to fill out about customer satisfaction. Generally I was satisfied with the way they dealt with the sale and handover but I did write a list of a dozen little niggles that needed attention. Guess what, they ignored that, instead of picking up the phone to discuss the problems.

Re: High battery drain
Hi Jim,
We had the same situation on our Hampshire and found that by shutting down the MES panel fully it stopped the 0.25amp continual drain.
The panel circuitry was live waiting for a signal from the remote that operates the awning and internal fluorescent lights.
We now shut the panel down by touching the top right hand corner and then putting in our pin code.
They all seem to leave the factory with the pin code set at 1111.

Re: High battery drain
Hi,
we had this fault recently after changing the leisure battery for a spare, ( battery was low, so was putting it on a boost charger in my garage )
the panel read high drain! Checked everything, all off, disconnected the battery again. Refitted battery no drain! Just the panel having a wobbly!
Mike.

Thanks for the comments.

also sorted for now at least
No need for me to buy a new MES or change battery. Same 'high drain' problem happened after first 3 nights away when Hab battery went flat and was partially recharged by starting engine. Advice from this forum and confirmation from local marquis service centre was to disconnect and reconnect battery. This reboots the computer. Not really sure if it was a 'true' current drain or false reading as the battery didn't go flat next night.
