Re spray for Duetto
Hi everyone,
I'm considering colours for an impending full respray. Has anyone any pictures they can send for inspiration. I've googled like mad - but the vast majority of images are a bit boring!
Thanks in advance.

Why not go for the Ford 'Diamond-White' & then you will have a perfect 'base-colour' for gazillions of vinyl graphic stick-ons, stripes, swirls, slashes, or even
FLAMES
The good thing about graphics is that they can easily be changed as & when, I have a vinyl cutting machine & if I wish to cobble something up, I take
digi-pics, then design on the pc & have several tryout overlays & see what they will look like, its a bit of fun as well

It would be nice to see some more attractive vans about.
I've no idea how old your van is or what its value is. But if it is a newer one and still worth a bit, don't forget that in the future anyone looking to buy an Autosleeper will expect it to look the part.

Re: Re spray for Duetto
Don't know how much the re spray is going to cost but have you considered having it vinyl wrapped?
could be cheaper and you can have any color or design your heart desires printed directly onto the vinyl and it can be removed at any time and changed for a new design, our just removed for selling.

Re: Re spray for Duetto
Each to their own but i'd seriously consider the implications of this.
If intending to keep your Duetto "till it falls apart", then fine. But respraying in any other than the original colour could knock the value considerably, no matter how professional the respray is. All purchasers looking for a Duetto (apart from the Mk6/7 versions), including Dealers, will expect it to be in the original Ford Beige.
An example of how this can affect price is my friends son picked up a very nice Sierra Cosworth some years ago in mint condition but at a knock down price......for the simple reason the previous owner had had it professionally re-sprayed in metallic purple. Not only a non-standard Ford colour, but all Cosworths of that era were Diamond White or Grey.
It's worth bearing this in mind.

Thanks modelman, good idea, probably a reasonable price option too.

Sound advice Peter - it's a 1996 duetto which was re upholsterd about 7 years ago and still looks great inside. I would like it to look a bit special - but keep the look as traditionally auto sleeper as possible. Also need the decals graphics from autosleeper. I'll try their parts dept.
Thanks again.

Another great idea - I'll look into it.

Thanks Bulletguy,
appreciate your point here - the Duetto style is a classic and instantly recognisable. Maybe that's why I can't find one that has been resprayed a different colour on the interweb?
Thanks for your time.

I'd be surprised if AS have any decals for your 'van' due to its age.
Others have tried in recent times without success, however modern day vinyl graphic suppliers can do most things.

Me too (eventually)
Very interested in this because I want to respray my 2000 Topaz.
What will you do with the black trim at the base of the high-top? The bottom edge is sealed to the body, so if you remove it for the respray you will have to reseal it. Will this be possible?
Has anyone else done it?

You will find later model (Mk6/7 Transit) Duetto's in metallic silver or blue like this one here;

The point I make is naturally down to your personal decision and dependent on if ever you may decide to sell your van. But re-spraying in a non-standard different colour will undoubtedly affect value.

If no luck with AS, maybe "modelman" can help as he does graphics;

IMO best to mask it up. With the best will one is likely to mess the trim up, usually trying to get it off.

Hi - I dont think the respray shop is going to take off the black trim - I'll ask.
Good point - thanks again.
