First time motorhome owners!
Good morning everyone, this is our first adventure into the world of motorhomes, jenny and myself have just become owners of dougal a 18 year old autosleeper duetto. Mainly by chance as it was up on the noticeboard at work a few days after we started looking, bigger than we had tought of but in our budget range and in wonderful condition apart from a few small rusty areas. Going into the garage to have a major service and cambelt done on saturday. With any luck weatherwise we may get to try it out whis weekend.
The plan is to keep it all original but update things as we go along. Thinking about going to the peterborough show to get some ideas.

Welcome from North Wales Good show Peterborough but don't even think about it if weather bad, worst site for drainage, just ask anyone who went last year. Hope your shakedown trip goes well. Good idea getting cambelt done especially if you don't know the service history.

Hi Jenny and Peter, Welcome to the forum and to the wonderful world of motorhoming.
There are lots of people on here who will be more than happy to help you with any Duetto specific or general motorhome queries.
Don't be shy, in asking questions, we were all newbies once!

Thanks for the welcome everyone
We have booked peterborough and thanks for the warning! Hope spring arrives in the next month, tried the gas heater and that works but the fridge did not light but does click repeatedly. Previous owners only used electric hook up.
Cd player fitted but shows how bad the speakers of that period are, will try and find some decent ones to replace the fronts. Next project will be reversing cameras as I like gadgets.

Re: First time motorhome owners!
enjoy your trip to Peterborough, but try to get a pitch near one of the access roads around the site if possible
I was there last year and the conditions were bad fortunately I had a pitch next to a road and was able to get off site.
you never know the sun may shine yet

Hi
Hi Jenny & Peter, welcome to the forum my wife & I are fairly newbies too, having got our Duetto (Dougal) snap, last October, and we love him, only use as a day van up till now but hopping to get a couple of long breaks later this year. I too like gadgets and decided to incorporate my reversing camera with my radio,cd,DVD player by getting one of Halfords flip out screens, works well, we managed to put the cables going to the camera very tidily by popping out the interior side lights and piece of wire to hook and pull them through to the back and it all looks good., look forward to hearing more from you on the forum as you get going on your tours.
