2012 Neuvo EK, step
Not sure if this problem with the micro switch on the step, but I hope someone may be able to advise.
When I start the engine the buzzer sounds and the step folds away OK. Set off driving and no problem. Then it happens, no set distance, speed or road conditions, the buzzer sounds for a couple of seconds then stops. This may be repeated a couple of times then nothing for the rest of the journey. Some times I think I hear a click as if the step is re-locating itself. Looking in the mirror the steps have not come out.
Could it be a faulty micro switch or is it something completely different.

Re: 2012 Neuvo EK, step
Hi there,
Not Neuvo specific but have worked with a lot of micro-switches over the years so:
A) Check that there is no dirt build up around the switch or its collar that can prevent it from working properly; and clean it with a soft brush anyway.
B) Check that the switch is not worn, is in the correct position and hasn't been moved in any way. (Seen them kicked out of position!)
C) Check that the step itself is clean and properly oiled to that it moves in and out smoothly. Clean it anyway then lubricate as required.
D) Check that the step hinges and moving parts aren't worn and therefore it seats properly relative to the switch.
E) If none of these steps cure the problem then I would start looking at the wiring to the switch and the step to see if there is a loose connection.
Finally, if none of the above seem to be the problem only then start thinking "Faulty Switch".
Hope this helps.
Best regards,

Sometimes whilst the step retracts off the ignition it does not go back fully as it would do with the step switch and I wonder if this is something to do with it.
I think it was last year there was quite a bit posted about these steps on the forum, you may wish to search the topic

Thanks for the info. I got on my hands and knees to have a good look at the nuts and bolts on the steps etc. One was found to be loose. Tightened up and now OK I hope. I wont actually know until I have been on a coupkle of trips.
Thanks again
