A new adventure...
Hello everyone,
We have been camping for a great many years, over 25, and found our way to Caravaning in 2006 when we bought a Freedom Jetstream. We eventually found our current caravan a 2002 elddis odyssey 482. While this has proved itself to be a very nice home from home while away, we have become much less confident while towing and do not enjoy lugging our caravan about like we did when we first started having holidays away in it. We would also like to down size our current car and if we did this we wouldn't be able to have our favourite type of holiday, so we have decided to do away with both car and Caravan and head into the world of Motorhomes.....
We both like the idea of more freedom and being able to take our Motorhome over the water to visit France and other countries across Europe. Venturing from place to place without having to worry about not liking a site having prebooked for a week. We intend to make full use of the Aires in france and descover all those hidden places that we have missed out on. Our needs are simple twin beds and good washroom with shower and the ability to cook our own meals when resturaunts are to far away.
We have found our way to your forum via another after realising that Autosleepers are the Motorhomes we are most drawn to. So here we are among you and hopefully you will be able to get us to the place we need to be....
We like the Eton, Sherbourne, Devon, Windsor and Nuevo. Our storage restrictions at home allow us nothing longer than 6.2m and preferably no wider than 2.2m.
I shall get off now and have a look round the forum.....
Thanks for reading hope to hear from some of you.

Re: A new adventure...
You have a fair selection there,
The Nuevo,(Pug) Eton (Ford) and Devon (Merc) are all in the same size range as is the Lancashire (Pug) which is a Marquis own branded Nuevo with extras.
It really is down to what age of van and what you want to pay. If its a newer van then you will have to forget the Eton as AS no longer build unfortunately on the excellent Ford chassis. The Devon is a bit longer than its stable mates.
The Windsor , which we have (is longer than the above vans) and the Sherbourne (VW) are long gone from the fold but both decent vans.
Our Windsor is coming upto 5 and we made the recent decision to hang on to it as we couldn't get Ford based van and whilst the Mercs are very good a new one is out of the question for us if its an AS (due to price)
Puegeot have a rubbish network of dealers here in the NW for service/warranty work hence my reluctance to support that make

Hi and Welcom!
Hi and welcome,
It seems we have traveled virtually the same road that you have: camping, caravanning and finally we chose an Auto-Sleeper Executive a few months ago. It's still early days for us but we have found that other people here are very friendly and helpful. I hope you enjoy as much as we plan to! All the best, Carol
