worn out windows
Hi everyone, I am a new member to this site. My name is Pete, 47yrs old, living in Southampton. My partner and I, have a 1988 ford transit autosleeper legend, that we bought in January this year. I've spruced her up quite a lot since buying her, new brakes, clutch, and other minor mechanical bits. I've also replaced the carpet, and seat covers, and stripped and re-varnished all interior woodwork. I've installed extra electric sockets, fitted a T.V. and generally tidied her up. ( I'm a handyman by trade). My next mission is the windows, and roof hatches, and I'm getting nervous now. Does anybody know where I might find a company, that repairs or restores the rubbers and frames of the side windows. Mine are very old now, and brittle. Ideally, I'd like to have new windows installed, with built in blinds, and it's not a job I want to tackle myself, for fear of ruining my much loved van. I know it's going to be costly, but I'm determined to get our van into the best possible condition. ( the previous owner swapped the 2 litre petrol engine for a 2.5 litre diesel ). We've been away in her 4 times so far this year, and love her to bits. Any good tips on the best way to proceed, would be much appreciated.

Hi Pete,Welcome to the forum
Don't know about window frames, but some of "my" members have used this company for seals and have not been disappointed:
