blanking plug
Hi all
I have received a blanking plug for the Carver Cascade water heater, which was expertly made by Modelman to whom I am very grateful, my question is this before I put this plug into the drain hole,is there anything i should check/do as my van has not had one of these inserted into its orifice before to the best of my knowledge
thanks mike

Hi Mike.
Don't know how to say this without a smirk on my face.
Put it in your oriface Thick end first.
Sorry Sorry Sorry. But could not resist.
Even if you have not fitted one in the heater drain plug before you should not find its a problem.
Still smirking. Whisky.

Hi whiskey
you may smirk if you wish,I am assuming that the plug operates a valve of some sort and thought it may have seized not having had one in before, as the late Clive Dunn said "they don,t like it up em"

1. Only a Yorkshireman would ask the question.
2. Only a Nottinghamshire man would attempt to answer.
3. Only a Derbyshire man would know the real answer!!
Whatever turns you on - enjoy!!
Best regards (been to Aldi today - gin at €3.00 a bottle!)

Re: blanking plug
Mike,
If I remember this correctly (I may not be but my van is too far away to check right now) there is a non-return ball valve inside, behind the drain plug. On mine this had seized in place when I first got it due to lack of use. It may be this that is causing resistance in yours.
I had to replace the non-return valve assembly. It wasn't expensive, but proved impossible to do in situ - I had to undo the fixing screws, pull it part way out the side of the van and have someone hold it up while I cursed at immovable plastic pipework (you generally have to cut the pipe off, as it deforms to the shape of the barbs on the spigots).
