Supplied keys for Mercedes Surrey
Hi
I have just changed our motorhome for a 2010 Auto-Sleeper Surrey which is on a Mercedes chassis. The ignition keys are the electronic type incorporating central locking and alarm, according to the dealer it doesn't have an ordinary type key for the cab doors, there is a key for the habitation door and lockers but not for the cab doors even though there is a key hole on the drivers handle. Does anyone know if there should be a "normal" type key for the drivers door.
Thanks John

If there are keyholes in the front doors, it would seem obvious that there should be a key. You realised this - why didn't the dealer?golly wrote: according to the dealer it doesn't have an ordinary type key for the cab doors

Yes, on my car, both keys slide out from the top of the plastic one. Never, ever needed to use it either on this or the previous one - standard Merc practice. At least the plastic key doesn't wear a hole in the pocket, so you only have to contend with the van wearing a hole in your wallet. Enjoy it anyway
