Hi all,
Does anyone know where the vehicle battery charging relay and fuse are located on a 2016 Autosleeper Broadway?

Do you mean leisure battery. Don't think vehicle battery has either?

Not sure whether the leisure battery is charging when the engine is running thought there may be a relay from the vehicle battery

A split charge relay will take alternator power to the LB, it is energised when the alternator has output, engine running.

Don't know your vehicle, but on the Warwick Duo, the LB and relay were under driver seat.

Others may know

If the problem is the split charge relay and your main control panel is the EC500 ( your van being a 16 plate it could well be ) the relay is located within this unit. Repair would need the unit to be removed and sent to Sargent electrical for what they call a “ fixed price repair “.

Ok .. I think the swop over was between 2016/2017 so Ian’s reply should be more helpful.

An EC328 system has the split charge relay built into the power control unit. I would not assume a failure of that relay without diagnostic work to confirm that the connections to both batteries show the correct voltage at the EC328 (i.e. correct battery voltage at Fuses 1 and 2, and both of those fuses are unbroken) and that there is an engine run signal at pin 2 of the 10-way signal connector (when the engine is running, obviously).

You can infer that you are getting a correct engine run signal by starting the engine while the EC328 is powered on and EHU connected. You should immediately get an alarm signal from the control panel if the engine run signal is present.

With a EC328 the relay for engine charging is in the EM50 or EM40 control unit on fuse 8. I think?

I think it's fair to say that the connection (if you have an EM40) to the vehicle battery goes *via* the EM40. But there are plenty of installations of an EC328 that do not include an EM40 (such the one installed in my Celex), so there has to be a provision for a split charge relay within the unit itself. Perhaps the relay in the EM40 serves the 12V fridge element? The EC328 only has built-in provision for an always-on fridge circuit.

One of these should do it. https://www.halfords.com/tools/hand-tools/screwdrivers-and-hex-keys/draper-33-piece-security-screwdriver-bit-set-478308.html

But you should speak to Sargent help line , they will tell you what controls the engine charging. Technical Phone: 01482 678981
