TV Mounting Brackets AS Fairford
I have recently bought a new auto sleeper Fairford from Marquis with an Avtex 18” TV & soundbar. Unfortunately, they are unable to fit AVtex brackets to the walls by the kitchen sink or in the lounge area below the 12 V PowerPoint snd aerial sockets as they involve breaking the waterproof seal in the bathroom wall and are not secure enough in
the kitchen area to support the bracket. Marquis Suggest a freestanding arrangement on the worksurface.
I was wondering whether anyone had come across this problem and whether there are alternative brackets which can be suspended from the cupboards above the TV power and aerial sockets.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: TV Mounting Brackets AS Fairford
I purchased brackets to fit in those locations back in 2016 when we bought the Fairford. We didn’t fit them, we store the tv on the dining table next to the window and place it on the oven when we wish to watch something which for us is infrequently as the TV is a low priority. If you like watching tv what about a drop/flip down unit?

We do as Toffee (above). I don’t think there is any suitable place to fix the brackets.

Yes, we have the same van and have discussed this with Marquis. Despite connections above the seat in the rear lounge and in the sink area there is no way of fixing the tv to the wall despite the bracket fittings being supplied with the van, so we have to get it out and put it away again each time we move the van.
We have several other issues with our van and wonder if you’ve had similar problems, such as noisy refrigerator, and a pulsing water pump when no water is being drawn. It’s going back in for the third time on Monday. I think AS have fitted things to this van which don’t work properly and which we’ve never experienced in any van, motorhome or caravan we’ve owned in nearly forty years.

Have you looked at something like this?

I’m not sure why fitting a TV to the bathroom bulkhead should be such an issue. Is there not a mirror the other side of the wall. Should be possible to reinforce the bulkhead with a pad and hide it all/seal it all behind the mirror.
Have you looked at mounting a TV in one of the rear corners? I think there is steel reinforcing behind those corner panels that might take a swivel mount.

Re: TV Mounting Brackets AS Fairford
I was told by Marquis that the mirror would have to come off for a backing plate to be fixed because the wall between the loo and the back lounge was not man enough to take the weight of a telly particularly when the vehicle was being driven. The backing plate would then not allow the mirror to be refitted. So I said, ‘forget it.’The Bargee wrote:Have you looked at something like this?
