MB Recall
I have just received an Email from the MB dealer I use about a Safety Recall on my Gloucester. Have asked them what it is for but no reply yet. Any other MB owners heard anything?

Re: MB Recall
It may be the airbag recall and they were a bit slow getting it to you unless you have had that done already?
If there is another one I don't know about it either!

Re: MB Recall
Airbags both done last year, so not that unless they have muddled their records.

Re: MB Recall
Thanks for that will do some digging and keep each other informed. Just checked my vin number on the MB site and there is only the airbag recall shown which has been done. Will have to wait and see if anything else pops up.PLOUGHLIN wrote:Airbags both done last year, so not that unless they have muddled their records.

Just checked the MB site for recalls. Came up with "Update software of CDI control unit"
Diesel software update
As ordered by the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA), Mercedes-Benz introduced mandatory recalls for Mercedes-Benz vehicles with diesel engines in summer 2018. These recalls affect a range of vehicle models.
Don't think I will bother.

I thought they were stopping diesel engine sales in 2035?
ps My van is 2010 build date.

Reply from Dealer confirms recall is update of CDI unit software, presumably the Emission defeat scam. Have heard elsewhere that vehicles that have had the "cure" have suffered a lack of performance afterwards, so will leave it for now.
I registered with My Diesel Claim who have a class action against MB for the defeat. First court appearance is in Oct 2024. Something may result from it, maybe?
