Pentewan sands
Hi All,
Have any of you lovely people stayed at Pentewan Sands camping site in Cornwall? If you have, did you have any mobile phone signal?
We visited a couple of weeks ago and had no signal (i D mobile), we are planning to return in September and would like a signal. Can anyone recommend a better network for this area?
Best regards,
Martin.

Re: Pentewan sands
I have been a EE customer for many years and it’s very rare I have signal issues

ID uses Three's Mobile network. I can’t speak specifically about Pentewan but, generally, O2 and EE are pretty good is this part of the world.

Re: Pentewan sands
I stayed at Pentewan Sands for a week in 2020, lovely site but too many ankle snappers. I used EE which worked well but could not get a TV signal, not that there is anything worth watching on TV.
Notice all the manhole covers in the road when travelling there, it is because of an international internet cable to the USA which lands on the beach next to the Hub/Box café. There is a very interesting video on YouTube that covers all the internet cables landing on the shores of Cornwall [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Re: Pentewan sands
TW is far nearer Pentewan than me but echo the comment both EE and O2 seem to give little problem with signals down here. I tried switching to 3 for a home hub and it was very poor reception.Tinwheeler wrote:ID uses Three's Mobile network. There will always be some black spots be it coves tucked between rocky headlands or wild isolated moorland spots but Monty P's post illustrates good EE coverage at Pentewan.
