Wobbly Worcester - Winchcombe
Love our Worcester /Winchcombe and it drives pretty well with not too many rattles since I pumped the rear air suspension up to max.
But on site it doh arf wobble when me or herself move about. Brushing teeth she can detect every brush stroke.
I have wound the stabilisers down but not much difference.
So is it just ours or us this the norm? Should I get the suspension checked?
My son followed me on the way to a holiday and remarked how much the van bobbled and wallowed along the road.
As I sez the drive is great, but it does feel like we are at sea on site.

It shouldn’t wobble much, if at all, when the steadies are lowered. I’d get the shock absorbers checked.
I assume you’re not overloaded.
We had Alko air rides fitted to improve suspension - which it did.

You must have major problems if it wobbles with the corner steadies down, they're bolted to the chassis.
When we had air suspensions on the Warwicks, we ran them at 1.5Bar, they should never be below 1 bar, btw.
A possible and cheap solution to your problem may be an electric toothbrush......Sex may be a consideration too.....

Thanks all. Think I will have the Dampers checked and maybe fit an uprated set. This is our 3rd motorhome and the other two were very steady parked up even without stabilisers. Can't run to a hydraulic system.

Hi, sorry to chip in, but are stabilisers standard for the winchcombe? or an added feature? Just about to purchase our first MH and it's a 2014 Winchcombe. Can't say I noticed any stabilisers. But didn't know to look tbh.
Thanks

We haven’t got air assist and find the road ride is quite acceptable with little excessive lean or movement.
On site if slightly nose down the movement is more noticeable at the rear but using the steadies sorts it. Most days they are not used.

Not a problem we have experienced on our Worcester over 12 years of use and compared to previous vans. Heavily loaded it does sag if you put too much weight in the back so as much weight low down as far forward as possible is the order of the day. Considered uprating the suspension but as it has never been a problem......!

Re: Wobbly Worcester - Winchcombe
I am pretty sure my dampers are knackered. If I rock the van it takes a time to settle so doesn't seem right to me.
So after advice I have ordered 2 Bilstein B6 Camper dampers to be fitted to the rear. Bilstein have designed these specifically for motorhomes which generally operate at full load capacity all of the time. Smoother ride and less wallowing when cornering are predicted. The Mercedes version has only just been made available. 2 to 3 weeks delivery so will report back sometime later whether it has made the improvements I am hoping for.

OK so finally received and fitted my Bilstein Camper dampers, and tested on 175 miles of winding Welsh roads of poor surface and lots of potholes.
Cost was £290 and my local garage fitted them in 45 minutes at a bargain £54.
Drive was not bad before but now is faultless with zero wallowing around bends and no see sawing of back end at all, so very pleasing.
Other half reckons there is less wobble on site when one of us is moving around in the van which was my original problem bui I am not totally convinced, so I think we will have to use the stabilisers more often.
So original Dampers were 11 years old and obviously worked hard supporting a vehicle at max weight 24/7.
If you are unhappy with the handling of your van they are certainly a worthwhile upgrade and give a spot on driving experience.
