Maybe it slots over the rail instead of using the big table or something similar

I don't think it would be original.
We have a Pollensa and I have made several small shelf sized tables.
One fits on the rail where the full size table goes, so I can have tea or coffee in bed; another fits on the wall over the cooker (when not in use!) for my coffee maker; and I made another drop-down one which goes in the space between the draining board & the fridge by the hab door - gives extra space for e.g. drying up plus handy when passing stuff out for alfresco cooking/eating.
