Re: Fresh water tanks
Thank you Paul, but I suspect not. Have spoken to CAK. They only offer Boxer tanks that run longitudinally. My van has a simple rectangular tank running across the van between the main chassis longitudinals (with a cut-out for the hand brake linkage) and has space for another tank, but AS have a very strange parts ordering system that seems to stop me actually speaking to anybody. I always prefer speaking with humans, especially when there are some points of detail to be confirmed.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

The direct parts phone number is 01386 842630. I phoned last Wednesday but it did go straight to music, I gave up after 5 minutes and ordered via their website , so can't guarantee you'll get answered.

Yes, that is the number I have tried several times over the last week. They have quoted a price but I just want to confirm exactly what would be coming in terms of fittings etc.

Re: Fresh water tanks
Yes, thanks, I have just found that site, and indeed I saw it before but they do not list tanks for Fiat/Peugeot 2919 on. The cross-tank they list is for 2006-2019 vehicles, and it would seem that on those vehicles the hand brake linkage ran down one side rather than almost centrally as on my 2019- vehicle.
However, there is a good chance that you have the right company so will speak with them in the morning. Thanks! Will report back for the record.

Re: Fresh water tanks
I will ring them in the morning. Thanks again for the lead.
I am not convinced yet that another identical tank will fit just forward of the existing tank due to the proximity of the exhaust tail pipe so might need to get the new tank made about 70mm shorter, but let’s see what Autocraft can offer.

Re: Fresh water tanks
I’ve always found the parts department to be very responsive if you use their on-line contact form. If you carefully phrase the questions you want answered, they should get back with a sensible response. You could also try ringing the A-S Service Centre at Willersey and ask for one of their technicians to phone you back who may be able to help. The Bargee wrote:Yes, that is the number I have tried several times over the last week. Re: Fresh water tanks
I'm not saying you shouldn't do it but the payload available on the Kingham is 398kg. 70litres of water weighs 70kg and 2 full tanks will weigh 140kg , that's a big chunk out of your payload.

Re: Fresh water tanks
It may have been up-plated. The axle MTPLMs are already quite high (2100 kg & 2400 kg) and I know from another thread he has R16 tyres with a high load index.

Re: Fresh water tanks
Those axle weights are the same as a 3500kgs vehicle built on the heavy chassis, it is the gross weight that changes with up plating. Check that to see if it’s been done, or check the revenue weight on the v5

Re: Fresh water tanks
Thanks for all the comments. All sound wisdom & advice.
I had hoped to keep under 3500, but have given up on that so am up plating. Seems easy up to 3900, and yes, heavy minibus chassis. Fact is that amongst other things 70 litres of water just isn’t enough. We are used to 4 tonnes (4000l) of water on the boat. You can wash your hands properly! And yes, new 121 load rated GG AT3 tyres, which are brilliant.
I spoke to Autocraft and they don’t seem to make the Kingham tanks, but I am still researching and exploring options. I can buy the tank from AS but it is a lot of money. It is a bit cheaper to get my normal boat tank man to make one, but it would still be a premium price for a one-off compared to Glynes suggestion at about £95.00 (but that one won’t fit). Might be cheaper to pay a CL fee just to empty the cassette and fill the water, but I love self sufficiency!

Re: Fresh water tanks
Apart from emptying cassette, water can be obtained from lots of places without going to a campsite, such as garages and cemeteries .

Re: Fresh water tanks
Yes, we are wise to cemeteries. Our favourite deceased relative cemeteries even have toilets and manholes, but those are in well known areas to us. I’m afraid I also have a key to U.K. waterways facilities. But as said I do like self sufficiency! We tend to use the van for 4 to 5 day trips. 70 litres doesn’t suffice but 140 and a spare cassette would, and save the worry.
