Off topic but a few of us have fitted access to that step for storage, very useful especially in a Symbol.
Interesting. Do you have any pictures? (Or perhaps there’s another thread somewhere?)

Of course, I’d need the extra storage if I started filling my sofa up with pipework….
A concealed safe would be handy.
The bigger pipework doesn’t take up a huge amount of space, but there’s no denying it’s a bit inconvenient in conjunction with the relocated vents, as it runs along the useful side of the under-sofa compartment instead of being tucked away on the back wall. On the other hand, it is very functional. It produces a significant amount of hot air from both of the vents under the sofa. At full blast it sounds like a jet taking off. I think they have eliminated all the narrow pipes, as I can see in the cupboard under the sink that the pipe that goes to the bathroom is also full size.

Here is my very modest hatch, others have done mods with hinges and larger access panels.

There is a lot of useful space under the step, this is a Warwick XL, well worth the effort.

That's a good point. I have two years of warranty still on mine. I wonder if I could get Marquis to do new piping and a step and still maintain the warranty...

Re: Front heating vents (Symbol Plus)
Your warranty is only 3 years plus an additional 3 years for water ingress ONLY. Modifying the hab to cab step shouldn't effect your warranty unless you use 9" screws

If it's a Marquis 3yr warranty, check small print, it covers less each year.

Just going back to my narrow heating pipes for a moment, look what I came across in the Truma installation guide:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I wonder if that would give me any leverage in getting A/S to replace them with the newer installation style with pipes that work?

Re: Front heating vents (Symbol Plus)
So in a lot of A/S campers have more then 1 out let that can be closed off as to my picture my own camper has 1 and next to the intake another no no.
What can be done to help the long pipes or all the pipes the insulation and helps keep the heat in the pipe as to my picture
Putting a intake vent at the driver seat end of my camper helps bring the colder air to the heater and not what has come out the vent and get pulled back in to the heater not helping the heater operation[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Did you read the correct fitment of the air intake and exhaust pipes to outside for the heater .just another item never done correctly by A/S and people will then get damage from water going in the heater
