Whale Products
We have a 2017 Broadway EB we are second owners and it came with 2 Whale products.
First a short pipe with attached pump, this fills the tank from a container but can it be used as caravaners do and not have to fill the tank?
Second is the Whale Aqua Source which I believe is to connect on to a serviced pitch. Should this feed water direct to the taps or does it fill the tank and switch off when tank is full? Problem is it does nothing as no water at all is coming through to taps or tank.
Thanks in anticipation

Re: Whale Products
There must be at least 50 posts on this subject. There are many reasons why your tank might not fill from the Whale connection straight to a tap. The most likely for a newbie is that you haven't switched habitation electrics on after moving the van to be close enough to the tap. Please use the search function to find all the other possible causes.

Guessed the question may have been asked before and did get some info from these, just needed to clarify other issues. Maybe a newbie to this forum so will look for the introduction request, but not new to motorhoming so definitely not as basic as switching the power on.

- NO
Second is the Whale Aqua Source which I believe is to connect on to a serviced pitch. Should this feed water direct to the taps or does it fill the tank and switch off when tank is full? Fills the tank and should switch off when tank full, Can be used on any water fill tap just to fill tank, not just on a Serviced Pitch.

Thankyou Ploughin for your clear answers, just now need to work out why the Whale Aqua Source is not working. Answers on other posts make it sound like it is a solenoid or electrical problem

Re: Whale Products
The automatic tank fill must be turned on and the freshwater tank must not be full for power to reach the Whale water inlet socket. If no power is reaching the socket, nothing will happen when you connect either the external Whale water pump or the Whale mains fed water pipe.

To confirm, the Whale pump works ok and fills the tank but the mains feed does not work at all no water flows

Re: Whale Products
That's strange. If the Whale pump is filling the tank OK, the fuses, pressure switch in the Whale inlet socket, connections behind the Whale inlet socket, the solenoid valve and the float switch in your freshwater tank must all be OK. I wonder if there is something wrong with the plug on the manis feed. It should have come with a small spigot that inserts into the plug to make it flow without being connected to the Whale inlet socket. The spigot isn't needed when connected to the Whale inlet socket. I wonder if you have filled your freshwater tank with the pump. If its full its float switch will stop any more power reaching the Whale inlet socket and so the solenoid valve will remain closed.MoHo User wrote:To confirm, the Whale pump works ok and fills the tank but the mains feed does not work at all no water flows

Thankyou Caraman, yes it is very strange and confusing, the problem is not with the Whale product as I eliminated that by trying it with a friends just after he had filled his own tank.

Re: Whale Products
If the external Whale pump is able to generate enough water pressure to close the electrical pressure switch in the Whale inlet socket, so power is sent to the solenoid to open its water valve allowing water to flow into the freshwater tank, then a mains water pipe connected to the Whale inlet socket will certainly generate enough pressure. Mains water pressure is higher than the Whale pump's pressure. Unless someone else comes up with bright idea, I can only think that when you tried to fill the freshwater tank with the mains water pipe, the tank was already full or the automatic fill hadn't been turned on. Both have happened to me in the past.

Re: Whale Products
Thanks again Caraman, tank is curtain not full in fact it was almost empty so looks like some technical fault maybe with the automatic fill you mentioned. Will put this to bed now unless anyone has a definitive answer, have never really needed to use it anyway just do like having something that could be of use but it's not working.
