Kitchen sink not draining
I have noticed that my kitchen sink does not drain very well, especially when van is slating forward. Looking underneath, there is no slant of the pipe itself, no bottle trap and vey narrow. Seems like a vey poor design. Has anyone done anything to fix this?

Re: Kitchen sink not draining
Not really and I’ve added to the problem by using a small stainless steel sieve in the plug hole to reduce the amount of food debris entering the grey water tank. The hand basin in the loo is even worse at draining and needs a bit of encouragement with the palm of the hand to get it flowing. When either basin is full the water flows freely.mikeelawson wrote:I have noticed that my kitchen sink does not drain very well, especially when van is slating forward. When we purchased our 2016 Broadway, during the handover, some incantation about the tortuous path of plumbing was muttered over the kitchen sink. On the other hand our hand wash basin drains like a champ, without any issues.

Grey tank breather
We had a similar problem. I treated the sink drains to caustic soda crystals washed down with boiling water (wear eye protection). The sink water then started coming up into the shower base... wife not happy.
Drilled a 10mm hole in side of grey tank as high as possible. So far so good.

Re: Kitchen sink not draining
you could fit a 12v whale waste water pump under to floor to pump it to the tank . my sink is a long way from the tank and drains slowly , the shower has 2 outlets and one seams to act as a vent from the tank as the water goes down the other , if the van is level and water goes down both the front one has air rising from it . it drains ok with the grey tap open so it seams there isn't a air vent in the grey tank .

I have a Burford Duo and there is an inline bottle trap in the back of one of the under sink cupboards. that said even after I have cleaned it out the drain from the sink is poor but the shower and bathroom sink excellent.
