MES control unit switching itself on and off.
We have a 2008 AS Symbol with a ( factory fitted ? ) MES touchscreen control unit which sets up all habitation functions like the water pump, interior lights, etc, etc.
It is easy to both switch on when on site and switch off when in storage but, unfortunately, it regularly both switches itself off and switches itself on. For example, when getting up in the night we find it`s switched itself off and we have to use a torch rather than just switch on an interior light. Similarly, when in storage, having switched it off, we check a couple of days later to find it`s switched itself on, the `low water` alarm has been flashing and has drained the leisure battery.
The van is still under warranty and has been back to the dealer who said the control unit is working OK and they didn`t observe it switching itself off while with them. ( It immediately `played up`again after trip to dealer ! )
I have to take it back for some other `snagging` issues and will raise this again.
Any ideas, advice etc most welcome.

Yes, when I turn it off the Autosleeper text disappears the screen goes blank and a few seconds later it bleeps to signal it’s completely switched off

I think these are the people to speak to. I can’t speak from experience, our MES panel on a 2009 Symbol behaved itself but I’m sure I’ve seen references on here to Apuljack repairing them.

How do you turn off the AS text and get a blank screen?GWR wrote:Yes, when I turn it off the Autosleeper text disappears the screen goes blank and a few seconds later it bleeps to signal it’s completely switched off
I would love to be able to do that. I didn't know you could.

When Autosleeper is shown on the screen, press down the on/off button for a few seconds until the text disappears. Let go the button and after a few seconds the pad beeps once, I assume to confirm it’s off ?
To switch back on just press the same button and text reappears etc.

Sorry, just noticed you have a Nuevo, so MES pad may be different to ours on our Symbol ?

It's actually a CR1620 button cell not a rechargable. Are you totally turning the control panel Off. One press and Auto=Sleepers is still displayed to totally turn off you need to press the central button until Auto-Sleepers disappears.
