Mains Supply Off on EC325 panel in 2011 Nuevo
Hi there
Looking for some advice on this please. We have a 2011 Nuevo ES II with the EC325 control panel. The Mains Supply screen is always showing Off even when the mains supply is connected. Everything seems to be working ok, so is this an issue or not? Many thanks.

Top right of the EC325 unit (probably in the wardrobe) there is a red switch which should on and glowing red. If that switch is off then the control unit thinks mains is off and the charger does not work to keep the batteries charged.

Hi Ron
Many thanks for responding on this. I’m afraid I can’t see any red switches on the Sargent unit. Trying to work out how to post a picture of the unit to help explain !

I don’t know a great deal about the EC325 but is it a green switch instead of red (EC328?).

Thanks Peter. Mine is the EC328 - similar but not identical.
Chris - the red switch only affects the charging which is directed to vehicle or leisure battery according to what is selected on the EC325 control panel. All the mains sockets in the van will be live whenever you are plugged in and so will the heater, fridge, cooker and so on. It's a pity that the message on the control panel says Mains Off when it means Charging Off !
The other thing that probably affects your van, as it does mine, is that if either the mains supply or the 12V supply gets switched off then your heater or water heater may be disabled until both 12V AND 240V are on AND the heater/hot water controls are switched OFF and then back on again. That's a safety measure in case the heater was covered while mains or 12V was off and then power was restored with.nobody in the van.

Many thanks all for your very informative responses. Ron - when you say the charging is affected by whichever battery is selected in the EC325 control panel, do you mean the battery which is shown on the screen?
Many thanks

No - you select which battery is in use with the battery select switch - the second pushbutton switch in from the left at the top of the control panel. The default (LED not lit) is to use (and charge) the leisure battery. If you press it you select the engine battery (and the LED is lit), which means that it is both used to power the habitation 12V loads and charged with the onboard PSU/charger.chromachris wrote:when you say the charging is affected by whichever battery is selected in the EC325 control panel, do you mean the battery which is shown on the screen?
Do you have a User Manual for the EC325? There should be a section for it in the A/S Owner's Manual for the van, and that describes the functions quite well.

IIRC, the EC325 is so far out of production that Sargent no longer have user instructions on their website, though the EC328 is very similar in terms of the user interface, and that is downloadable.
But an easier approach is just to go onto the A/S website, go to the Owners, Handbooks section and download one of the manuals for yourself. They have a Nuevo 2012 manual which includes instructions on the EC325.
