No mains supply error
Hi all, I have just bought an Auto-Sleeper Suffolk motorhome (2011) which is fitted with an EC325 PSU and EC200 control panel. When connected to mains supply the EC200 displays that the mains supply is off and the Green indicator light on the EC325 status monitor is not illuminated even though all 240V appliances and 3 pin sockets are working fine. Can anyone suggest anything I can try to rectify this? I'm not sure if this is connected but the PX300 battery charger has a mains supply signal output but nothing is connected to the terminal - any ideas? Thanks, John

Welcome to ASOF.
Sorry I can’t help but I’m sure someone else will.
We had a 2011 Suffolk (H*** LGY). It was my favourite of all the vans we’ve had.

This doesn't seem normal, from what I can recall. The EC325 has a quite sophisticated power supply built-in, so I can't offhand think of a reason why you should have a PX300 installed as well. Does the look of the wiring to the PX300 suggest that it might have been installed after the van left the factory?

The installation looks very professional so I'm guessing its probably factory wiring and has been like it from new.

Re: No mains supply error
It may be worth speaking to A/S about this (giving them the Build Number usually displayed in the glove compartment), to see if they can suggest a reason why they would have fitted a second charger from the factory.
I can't think of a reason why they would (though I can think of reasons why the PX300 might have been retro-fitted). As far as I can tell, there is no external charger input on an EC325, so it would have no direct way of detecting whether the PX300 were turned on or not.
Is it fair to assume that you've got the RCD and all of the MCBs in the "On" position, and the main Charger switch on the EC325 is turned on?

Yes, all the MCBs and the RCD are on and the charger switch on top of the EC325 is on and illuminated....

Re: No mains supply error
This forum's Peter Brown may be able to advise further, as he had a van with EC325 of about (IIRC) the same age.
If it were mine, I would look to see what the PX-300 is wired to, because there isn't an obvious reason why anyone would choose to have two mains chargers installed. It's very difficult to guess what previous owners might have done and why, but the obvious reason could be that the inbuilt charger has failed and they have wired around it. The less obvious is that it might have been deliberately disconnected, internally.

Thanks for your thoughts and advice. I'll check over the weekend to see what the PX300 is wired into - I'll let you know.

Ours was the rarer 2 berth model as well. Have you got a towbar mounted spare wheel, Johnny? Ours was a one off custom made fitting.

We also have a tow bar mounted spare wheel / bike rack which was a special one off - a real tidy job too.

Re: No mains supply error
Did you have it made? Ours was fabricated locally and fitted at home utilising a wheel sourced from eBay and a tyre bought locally. We fitted it in such a way as to also allow a bike carrier to be used.johnnyhepps wrote:We also have a tow bar mounted spare wheel / bike rack which was a special one off - a real tidy job too.

The previous owner had it fabricated and fitted.

That’s some coincidence. We owned ours from Feb 2014 to Oct 2017.
Have PM'd you.
