Thule omnistor anti flap kit
Hi all
I recently saw a you tube video about an anti flap kit for the Thurle orminster windout awning.
I have looked online and can only find ones in $ but wondered if anyone has got one here in the UK and of so where did you get it from.
I already have stormstraps but am looking for something to stop the fabric from flapping so much.
Many thanks
Marc

Try Rose Awnings or Hill View Awnings , main agents for all brands of wind out awnings.
If you have the rafter , then you can buy clamps that fit on that to stop flapping, Hill View have those.

For the Thule Omnistor 6200 awning, you need to fit a Thule Omnistor G2 Aluminium Rafter to each end of the awning rail. For the later Thule Omnistor 6300 awning, you need to fit an integrated tension arm to each of the existing two rafters. Both work well.

I may be teaching my grandmother to suck eggs, so forgive me. But I had flappy awning until someone told me this tip a few years back.
When you wind the awning out, put the legs down etc and when you think it’s ready to go, wind the thing back in a little* and it will tension the awning fabric.
It doesn’t eliminate all flapping but it certainly makes a difference
* maybe 1/2 a turn

Re: Thule omnistor anti flap kit
The awning tension will only be as good as the springs in the two main rafters. When the wind blows the awning rail will move back slightly against the rafter springs. This de-tensions the fabric and makes it more likely to flap and shake in the wind. The secret is to stop the awning rail from moving back.Millie The Moocher wrote:I may be teaching my grandmother to suck eggs, so forgive me. We bought a G2 rafter before our latest European trip as we now have a side shade panel for the awning which required one. What a revelation in how much sturdier it makes the awning, I returned home yesterday and have already ordered another :-)
