Lost 3 240v outlets on 2018 Bourton
Hi all,
3 of my 6 240v plug sockets have stopped working. Well my immediate thought is a fuse has blown.
The 240v plugs in the kitchen, and below the passenger side bench seat work ok, as does the plug in the cupboard fitted for the microwave. However the 2 plugs on the wall adjacent to the TV point, and the 1 under the drivers side bench seat appear dead.
I have looked at the wiring going to the 2 plugs adjacent to the TV point and there are no loose wires.
We did remove the microwave recently to clean behind it, and it has been since then the the 2 plugs stopped working.
Is there a fuse I haven't found? the circuit breaker didn't trip.
Any ideas?
Phil

It won’t be a fuse, as all 240V circuits are protected by miniature circuit breakers (MCBs) and a RCD. I would start by switching each of the MCBs off and then on again, even though you say they haven’t tripped.
If nothing changes then I would think there’s a cable connector that’s come adrift, even just slightly, resulting in a break in the circuit for those sockets in question. Maybe the connector is behind the microwave, out of sight, and it got disturbed when you removed the appliance. Seems odd though, as the type of connector likely to be used should have a locking mechanism.
The other possibility, and unrelated to the microwave, is that a connector at the Sargent power supply unit has come adrift. If you can identify which PSU it is (EC???) then it will be possible to be more specific on its connectors.

Hi Tim,
It's the Sgt EC 500.
I've had a look at the wiring that goes to the 2 240v wall sockets and they appear tight. I too thought that re fixing the microwave had dislodged the wire, however I am confused as to why the 240v socket on the opposite side of the van adjacent to the washroom under the drivers side sofa also appears dead. Would they be on the same circuit?

On my WXL with EC500 they are wired on different circuits, I had the top off the EC500 storage box as I was doing some wiring and noticed this

There are two plugged outlet cables from the power unit fed into MCB1 (230v sockets only) and MCB2 (extra 230v sockets plus water heater/heating).

Hi Guys,
Just wondering if this is a job I should be doing??? or is it best back to a dealer to sort. Electrickery has never been a strong point of mine.
Doesn't appear to be a "quick fix"

If you have switched MCBs off and on again, and waggled the plugs (white cable MCB1, White & Yellow MCB2) on underside of EC500 (unplug EHU first.), then dealer or auto electrician is the answer.
Does your hot water and heater work, if so MCB2 is ok, if not that is the circuit with trouble.

Hi All,
Back from Nick Whale, problem was a loose connection at the back of the PSU, done and dusted in half an hour. £32. Bargain in my books. Peace of mind for the management!!
