It’s MOT time again and…
…it’s passed yet again, with flying colours, no issues, no advisories, just nice comments from the mechanic. That’s another successful year

Re: It’s MOT time again and…
Being involved with the motor trade for years I still find MOT time stressful. It’s a combination of the embarrassment of fail and the cost of repairs now I am past crawling under vehicles.
We are down to just managements car and the Rienza but when daughter and partner were at home it was MOT time four times a year.
This year we have moved the service and MOT apart to spread the costs. Managements Fiesta we bought last summer needed a cam belt service and the ABS sorting costing just over £1000.
The Rienza passed its MOT with no problems and the service is a minor this time so that was a relief.

Interesting that older vans 10-15 years old, like ours, seem to pass MOTs with few problems! Maybe when they are 20+ things may be different.

The only advisories I get are, the exhaust rubbers are going, that's on a 2016 Peugeot boxer, strange as there seems to be loads of them, 8 I think. Never had to change them on any Ford or even the exhaust boxes etc. .

I keep a supply of those in our 2002 Boxer as the rubber doughnut ones do seem to perish quickly. I'm surprised no-one has come up with a better material, although at least they are cheap! Any time we are on dry grass, I check them. I also bought some special tools to help as they can be a pain to remove and replace.rgermain wrote:The only advisories I get are, the exhaust rubbers are going, that's on a 2016 Peugeot boxer, strange as there seems to be loads of them, 8 I think.
