symphony- oil filler neck
hi folks, can anyone tell me if there should be a gauze or mesh underneath the oil filler cap. looks a bit open to me, but it could be normal. any help would be great.

Re: symphony- oil filler neck
Diesel or Petrol?
Mine's petrol and doesn't have any gauze beneath the filler cap, I don't really see why it should? you'll only be putting clean oil in there and there should be no bits in it.
As a slight aside, I did find that if you filled it up too fast and allowed the funnel to fill up, you get oil in the air intake ducting, through the breather system.
