Re: Mercedes Sat Nav
When setting up your route is it "fastest" or "shortest". The off and on might be a shorter distance???

Re: Mercedes Sat Nav
Agreed - "shortest" can lead to some nightmare routes on mine.
Also: when did you last update the map? On a 2019 van, it would not be surprising to find it still using 2016 map data, because of the (IMO deceptive) way in which they carry out updates.
Admittedly, it won't affect motorways, but on major roads like the A1 it's not unusual to find a junction that used to be a roundabout (for all traffic) only a few years ago.

The advice, oft given, is to use a map and plan your route in conjunction with the SatNav. After all, if you know you are supposed to be on the motorway/autoroute/major road for 50 miles then you are unlikely to obey a spurious demand to leave it after 25 miles.

Hi Everyone
Thank You all for your input, The data on the Sat Nav is up to date , there is no option as far as I can see for fastest/shortage route option. I know shortage route is a bad choice, it will send you through somebodies back garden to save 100 yards.
Regards

According to the MB Manual, page 227, you can select 4 one of four route options, Fast/Shortest/Eco or Trailer.

Re: Mercedes Sat Nav
I don’t trust my Sat nav either best give a decent road map to the navigator who sits on the left hand seat to keep cross checking it. Recently we went the Cooke’s tour to Duxford from a campsite 3 miles away .
