Waste tank
Has anyone managed to drop the waste tank on a Duo?
Just wondering if the waste pipe going into the top of the tank comes off easy when tank is dropped.
I want to fit an inspection hatch to the tank, had it in the garage for past 3 years, as I recently tried to clean the tank with Kilrock, which did some good as I good loads of muck out through the drain, but sensors are still blocked.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]So if your tank is like this with the pipe going in the side at the top it’s just a push fit

Thanks, hope it is, makes life simple, getting a bit old for lying under the van these days. There is a garage/workshop near me who hire out their 4 post ramp.glyne lock wrote:[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]So if your tank is like this with the pipe going in the side at the top it’s just a push fit

Re: Waste tank
if you can spray the hook bolts days before you are going to remove the tank this will be a big help and the electrics for the level sensor

Precisely the reason I gave that job to the garage who did my MOT's. They don't hire out their 4 posters (tbh i'm surprised any garage would due to insurance), but the price they gave me of just £20 made it a very easy decision! In my case the tank had to be dropped to fit a replacement tap. A/S in their wisdom fitted taps which were secured from the inside.rgermain wrote:Thanks, hope it is, makes life simple, getting a bit old for lying under the van these days. As Glynne mentioned, it might be a good idea to spray the hook bolts with some easing oil. The garage didn't bother with mine, they just cut them off, binned them and replaced with stainless steel threaded bar.

Re: Waste tank
And SS threaded bar is what they should have had in the first place, with SS nyloc nuts too.
Same applies to spare wheel carrier.
The money saving with carbon (guaranteed to rust) steel and stainless is pennies!

Re: Waste tank
Had a look today, seems like I have two waste pipes to the tank on a Duo.
So have decided to live with the muck in the tank.
Next I need to tackle the fresh water tank, as I see it should be done on a regular basis.
I have read on here that cleaning agents should not be used in the boiler, but how do you stop filling it up while filling the cold tank and what cleaner is best?
