Sites Full - Not true
There seems to be quite a lot of misinformation about sites being booked up. We are at a lovely in the middle of Brixham which is £18 a night. It was full over the Jubilee weekend but now on the 6th June there are at least 50 spare spaces

I don't think it's any surprise that sites have emptied as people have returned to work and school today after the 4 day Jubilee Bank Holiday.

I agree but earlier in the year some profits of doom were predicting inability to get a site generally due to Stacations etcTinwheeler wrote:I don't think it's any surprise that sites have emptied as people have returned to work and school today after the 4 day Jubilee Bank Holiday.

Ah, you're referring to predictions of months ago before site prices and fuel costs escalated rather than the present situation. Thanks for clarifying your earlier post.Bigplumbs wrote:I agree but earlier in the year some profits of doom were predicting inability to get a site generally due to Stacations etcTinwheeler wrote:I don't think it's any surprise that sites have emptied as people have returned to work and school today after the 4 day Jubilee Bank Holiday.

Re: Sites Full - Not true
On some occasions when I have tried to book on line and found the site was booked up I thought it might be worth phoning the site.
They said the system had a capacity built in to it but they had a buffer in case of cancellations and drive ins. As long as I didn’t want a particular pitch they would fit us in. Yes we did end up on a grass pitch and the electric bollard was a bit of a stretch.
The site was a bit too busy than we would normally like but there were spaces the whole weekend.

That’s my only problem with CL’s Richard when I take off alone with the bike for a day or two. I like to think that I’m a sociable sort of bloke and sitting in a field with nobody around is not my idea of fun!
I’ve just this minute booked one of our favourite camping club sites at St Neots where I always chat to loads of other campers. Thursday and Friday for the grand total of £26.45 and pretty much guaranteed a river pitch as I’m not on electric.
Back to the thread, I’m not finding anything like the problems of the last couple of years booking sites, even at short notice for weekends.
