Broadway EK external water pump
Hello!
We are newbies so this might be a silly question - as I understand the manual, if I select "internal" on the control panel of our 2011 Broadway EK, the external Whale pump should not run.
However, the external pump runs on all panel settings (internal/external/both) as soon as I plug it in.
Have I misread or misunderstood something, or is this actually a problem?
Thanks for looking!

Hi, certainly not a silly question, ours does exactly the same thing, been like that all the time we have had the van. Never caused a problem up to now, just my confusion!

Re: Broadway EK external water pump
Most interesting given that our previous 09 reg Broadway did operate the internal and external pumps via separate switching on the control panel.

On our nuevo and previous models so long as 12v panel is on that is the norm worry when it refuses to work

Stevie G....their is a pressure switch adjuster, I think under your d/s bench which you screw down just until the pump switches off...then try opening tap etc...bit fiddly but always worked for me.

Re: Broadway EK external water pump
The pressure switch adjuster has no effect on the external pump which is controlled by a solenoid valve on the inlet pipe that closes when the tank is full.
The pressure switch adjuster switches the internal pump on/off according to the pressure in the system. Turn a tap on, pressure in the pipe drops and the pump is activated until tap is turned off. It is very sensitive and I would mark it somehow so you know the starting position if you move it (from experience!).

Thanks Mike - given that both you and Gef have previously said that what I described is normal, and the internal side of things works perfectly, I am now thinking I will leave things alone for the time being, rather than mess up what does work.
I might play with the pressure switch when I have a little more experience and confidence!
Thank you all for bothering to reply to my question - much appreciated.
