truma ultrastore fail
Help!
greetings all.
Just run a check of the gas function on my Truma Ultrastore water heater and when turned on, the green light comes on and 30 Seconds or so after the red light comes on.
Water flow is ok. apart from being cold!
Heater is ok on mains.
Any suggestions? Owners manual no help..
Best wishes

Re: truma ultrastore fail
OK, let's check the basics first:
Have you removed the external flue cover?
Have you run gas through the system to the hob etc to ensure no air locks in gas line?

Hi.
Answer to question 1 is no. There appears to be no mechanical connection which would inhibit the heater.
Question 2 is yes .
Thanks for prompt reply.

"Gas Operating Instructions 1. Remove cowl cover"
Now all you need to remember is to replace it before setting off . . .
Your first reply brings up an interesting point - as you say there is no obvious switch contact or mechanical device to detect the presence of the cover but the unit will not work on gas with it in place so there must be some means of detecting its presence.
Perhaps it's triggered by the overheat device sensing a rise in temperature due to the lack of a path for flue gases to escape?

Been there too, you're not the only one who had their Truma Ultrastore mysteriously not lighting up. I think I put the gas hob on also. Happy days.
Reminds me of my similar bewilderment when at the Leyburn CAMC site in 2021, there seemed so many non-functioning circuit breakers on the EHU post. A fellow camper was needed to come to my aid.

Yep, been there done that...
Even after all these years it's something we forget to remove when we arrive late at a remote place to spend the night. Come the morning I raise an arm out of bed and turn the control on, expecting another half hours kip while the water warms for our showers, then that sinking feeling when if fails to ignite and I realise I have to raise myself out of bed, unlock and walk round the van in my pants to remove the cover.... and it's always my turn to do it...

Put the cover on the driver or pax front seat when removed.
