Re: Optional extras
We had a MaxxAir fan fitted to the skylight nearest the cooker on our kitchen. I couldn't justify the expense of air con. Fan works great either extracting heat and cooking smells or on the fan setting. Good bit of kit.

I can echo what's been said above. The fan on my Dometic AC unit works but there is no hot or cold air just ambient. The vehicle was taken back to the supplier and their staff said that these things can't be repaired. So now I'm stuck with a lump of useless iron the size of a barn door on the roof with all the drawbacks that entails. My mpg last year averaged 28. We never required it when traveling around the UK last year anyway.

Sounds just like mine was. Take it off and put another rooflight in.Crashman wrote:I can echo what's been said above. The fan on my Dometic AC unit works but there is no hot or cold air just ambient. Thanks, Paul.
Seems the best option.

All of this confirms to me that habitation aircon isn't worth having unless you habitually go to very hot climes and can guarantee the EHU will be 16A which we know is often not the case in Europe.

Optional extras - Lagun table
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Couple of pics of our Lagun table stored and in position. I started with a Fiamma tripod and column with this top which was an improvement on the AS table but the beauty of the Lagun for me is both its manoeuvrability and the fact that it leaves the floor clear. Some experimentation is needed to ascertain clearance as it swings around. I made a wood and cardboard dummy.
Also a strong anchorage is essential. I was able to bolt it to the steel frame of the third travelling seat. The table can be used from either sofa side (or both) and the travel seat. Other installations might need some thought.
As you can see I've managed to retain the AS table as back-up or for outside.

Re: Optional extras
Thanks for the photos of your Lagun table, you've got an interesting alternative to the standard table arrangement that A-S supplied.
Incidentally what table top have you used with your Lagun?
On our Kemerton XL at the back door the standard table is the lower position and above we have one of our folding chairs hanging on some plastic hooks. The other folding chair hangs on plastic hooks attached on the nearside rear door close to the access door to the toilet cassette. From new the table fixing A-S used were just 4 plastic turnbuckles, I had to buy 2 grey corner pieces as you show in your photo. The two lower turnbuckles couldn't take the weight of the table and the screws were starting to pull out, so that's where the corner pieces went, at the bottom corners of the table top.
As I mentioned the table we now use lives in the clothes cupboard so it's easily accessible, unlike having the standard table by the back door.
I'm not certain we have ever used the small table as we don't sit in rearward facing rotated front seats.
If I had the option I would have liked what we had in our Duetto, a pole socket in the floor by the bench seat, not a table with fold down legs.

Re: Optional extras
Although not familiar with your layout I wondered whether you have you seen the Sequoia table leg system? The pole socket is surface mounted to the floor but is very low profile so doesn't cause an obstruction, nor is it necessary to make a hole with a deep recess. The Sequoia leg slots in, twists and then is locked down with a locking ring. It is meant to be more stable than the usual Fiamma leg system but we have no personal experience of that! Certainly the floor mount is less obtrusive than the Fiamma one.Relaxez-Vous wrote:

There are some quite useful videos on youtube about the system.

Ah, that's an interesting possibility, might have to look into that for our Symbol.ril1954 wrote:

The Lagun is quite a heavy lump but we liked its versatility with the swivelling top etc. when fitted in our previous vehicle. Not quite sure where we would store it for travelling though.....mmmm....more thinking required!

Optional extras - Lagun table - shower valve
I got the table top from these guys
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Their range is terrific. The top is 18mm so is quite a hefty thing but I decided it was worth the weight penalty for the quality and choice they have.
Quick tip on shower water saving. The trigger handsets seem the obvious fix but I got one these. I fixed it immediately at the handset, not the tap. That way you can use it as a trigger type but also as a quick shut off with the handset still in its bracket.

Re: Optional extras
We had the Truma on our previous Kingham, used it in france and once in this country as we don't use many commercial sites we decided against it on our new Kingham. We found it rather noisy at night and robbed the light from the centre skylight. We got Auto-Sleepers to fit a Thule fan vent over the bed which works well for night time ventilation. I guess they would fit it in place of the centre skylight in the Kemerton robbing light and ventilation from the kitchen.

Re: Optional extras
In the past we have found Clearcut Conversions offer discounted table tops (on eBay and on their website) - some may have the odd tiny mark but no major issues. They also do a whole range of regular priced table tops, and fittings. Various shapes, sizes, colours in 15mm lightweight furniture ply board with double faced surfaces.
Past experience found them to offer a good, fast service.
I am sure that there are many other companies who offer similar but this is one that we use again.

Re: Optional extras
Regarding shower heads, I bought one of those inline chrome valves, but it seemed a bit stiff and I wasn't certain it was much of an ergonomic improvement, though to be fair I didn't try it out in our van.
Soon after it arrived someone on the forum recommended an Every Drop is Precious shower head which we now use. It has my vote.

Shower temperatures in a domestic setting are usually constant, less so if using one of these intermittent flow valves or trigger operated shower head, but then the idea is to save water usage, and refilling.

Re: Optional extras
I have one of those valves (on a recommendation, I think by Gromit, on the Forum) and also a trigger shower head. I found that a lot of water was wasted until I'd adjusted the tap to the right temperature. So now I leave the tap always open, set to the right temp, and turn on the shower by means of the valve and the trigger. Wastes far less water, and works well.

Would this work ok with the Wale submersible pump.

Re: Optional extras
I have no experience of the Whale, but I assume that, like most if not all motorhome pumps, it's activated as soon as a tap is opened, calling for a supply of water. In which case, as long as the valve (and / or trigger head) is closed, then leaving the shower mixer-tap open (at your last selected temperature mix) should not activate the pump. I have a shurflo pump, which only activates when I open both the valve and the trigger head. I leave the mixer-tap always open, at my chosen mix of hot and cold.
In other words, I don't think that the pump is relevant - whether it be submersible or not.
But as ever with this wonderful Forum, someone (and that's most members!) with more knowledge than me will no doubt put us right if I'm wrong.

Yea thinking about it your right a pump is a pump if it works on one no reason it shouldn't work on another.
