Roof Vent Wind Noise
The wind noise, even at 40 mph on calm days, from the large opening roof vent, not the wind open one over the cab, on our 2021 Nuevo EK is very annoying has anyone found the same issue and if so tried any fixes to make it less intrusive. we have closed the sun blind over but that is such a poor design as it is only thin plastic material it gets blown outside of the frame runners and fear it will split the edges. Thanks for any help and Happy Xmas to everyone

Re: Roof Vent Wind Noise
The Heki 3 type rooflight only has weather strip on the front edge, to give permanent ventilation, hence the noise.
You can buy the strip which just pushes onto the lip. Probably cheaper than this link if you search.

Not really one has to buy the 5m lengths unless you can find someone
who has some left over from their purchase.
When I did mine it had as originally fitted 1.2m, so I needed 1.8m to complete the seal.
This means that to replace seal completely one should need 3m. It is now silent!!
and as a bonus bits don't get blown in when not in use.
Best to measure how much you need as sizes can differ.
Mine cost £40+

I did mine just a few months after getting van from new. No noise since. And the rubber strip I bought had a suede like finish so no sticking either.

I've not noticed any noise on mine. I probably will now! We don't shut the blind when driving. I wonder if ours has been installed better. It might be worth raising it as a warranty point.

Our's is the same as yours 2021 but we didn't want the anniversary model as I didn't want the habitation air con, but I haven't noticed any excessive wind noise, perhaps it the positioning of the air con altering the wind flow?

I've just checked mine. It has a rubber sealing strip that goes all around. The front leading section of the seal is slightly higher than the rest.Caraman wrote:I've not noticed any noise on mine. Many thanks to everyone who has replied, i have checked and ours is fitted with a Heki 2 not a Heki 3, all the images i can find of the 3 have a large rubber seal all around the full aperture that to vent closes down onto, but all the images of the 2 have no seal fitted at all , the 2 seems to be a different design than the 3. If anyone has fitted a seal to a 2 could they possibly post an image and where the seal was purchased, will be mentioning the wind noise to the factory at first service for their opinions.

Re: Roof Vent Wind Noise
Apologies. The roof vent handbook that came with my 2019 Nuevo is for a REMIS - REMITOP VARIO II - so not a Heiki but its very similar albeit with a rubber seal around the whole aperture. The front roof vent above the cab is also a REMIS - REMIFRONT IV-D.Caraman wrote:I've just checked mine. It has a rubber sealing strip that goes all around. I have a Broadway, the top roof isn’t too bad for noise but the front window over the cab gets very noisy above 50mph, will this strip work on the front windows as well?

Re: Roof Vent Wind Noise
Thank you all you guys who responded. I am so pleased that there is a solution, as as it stands the roof light is not fit for purpose.
I will speak with Marquis to see if this has been missed off, failing that, I can now deal with it myself.

Re: Roof Vent Wind Noise
I have 2021 Nuevo overcab, with the aircon. Most of the noise whilst driving was from the overcab roof vent, it didn't have any seal on it. The dealer agreed to source and put a seal in during the snagging fixing visit. this has improved the situation.
However, during New year trip away in high winds we found that the middle and kitchen roof vents let in significant wind, moving the internal light covers around a lot, in fact one cover now has creases set into it. I think it would be good to get both these roof vents fitted with seals to stop this problem, but have a couple of questions which it would be great if anyone could help with.
Should I worry about sealing these vents in terms of gas leaks? I think not, as the seal put into the overcab vent hasn't totally stopped the airflow, but appreciate any views.
Its seems that the middle and kitchen roof vents are a slightly different design as well as size, can anyone identify the make and model of these please? I can't find any info in the manuals supplied?
Thanks for any help
Stuart

Ploughin, many thanks for posting this link. Today I fitted a strip to our whistling roof light and, after a quick run along the motorway, it seems to be a vast improvement.

Re: Roof Vent Wind Noise
Fitted the seal as per Ploughlins image, been out today for our monthly run to keep everything ticking over, on the Motorway at 60 mph noise is about 50 % better than it was on the way out , so slid the night blind over on the way back and it improved it even more. 3 metres just fits around the full aperture with just about 1 inch left over.

GREAT for the HEKI 2 but for the rest one needs the Heki 3 seal with the lip.

Re: Roof Vent Wind Noise
Does anyone know on a 2021 Overcab Nuevo if the middle(largest one, over the seating area) roof vent is a Heki 2 or 3 model?

With a U-handle its probably a 2 With a wined up its a 3
Heki 3 rooflight (wind up handle, no lift handles, glazing panel has 4 seperate hinges 960 x 655 aperture, discreet lighting.)
Heki 2 is 960 x 655 roof aperture and has 2 gas struts and a push up bar with 3 hinges on glazing panel.

Re: Roof Vent Wind Noise
Hi Fredric,
I was wondering what mine was, its a heki two.
when I was looking at Nuevos the Manual one in stock (2021) was wind up but when my auto was deliverd it was push up, I prefer them as they are less of a problem (snapping stings etc) so I was pleased.

Thanks for the reply Frederic. However, I don't seem to have either of the 2 or 3 on my 2021 model Nuevo.
My main rooflight above the seating area has 4 hinges, but with a single U lift handle and is smaller than either of the 2 you describe.
After looking at the Dometic website it seems A/S have fitted the smaller Midi Heki over the seating area, probably so they could fit the AC on the roof.
It also seems like the rooflights fitted over the cab bed and the kitchen are the Mini Heki type.
I can't find anything about seals on the Dometic website, so still don't know which seals to buy!!! Could anyone help me?
Thanks Stuart

Hi Frederic, I am struggling to tell the 2 versions apart. I have found a PNC number on my rooflight, but can't find a match on the website or your details, my number is PNC9104123086, very close, but not the same!!
