I did not know A-S made a FWD Ford Duetto, our 2003 Ford Transit based Duetto was RWD. I regret our Kemerton XL is FWD because the rotated passenger front seat and single seat are not at the same height. In our RWD Duetto my wife and I could eat opposite each other by the sliding door. I did not realise this when we bought our Kemerton XL. The floor plan of a FWD from cab to habitation area incorporates a step, not in a RWD van.
So in my view this 2010 Duetto isn't a van I would covet.

Yes and its fitment were poor compared with the earlier rwd ones, thinner upholstery not so luxuriously fitted out

The late 1990 models i saw were all very rusty. That was in 2011 time.
Hope that 2010 one is better protected.

Our 2009 lwb was fine bodywise though discs showed the usual lack of continuous use.

Very disappointed in our 2010 model, in was a medium wheel base FWD, interior was really sparse with two lockers and tiny ones over the sink.

When our 95 Duetto came to its end we looked at one the last ones on a M6. It didnt seem as big inside or as well finished as ours.
With this in mind we started to look for another model based on a Ford chassis meaning it had to be a coach build hence us buying the Rienza.
It always seemed a pity they didn’t put that layout into a Sprinter rather than the Peugeot.

Our 2000 smiley face Duetto LE was the pinnacle of the interior design and quality inside and out with uprated paintwork and finish. Though it was lacking in underbody protection so we had it treated by the firm in Poole.
And stayed in it while it dried/set boy did it pong, lucky the weather was dry & Sunny!

Did not like the cream colour used on some.

We love our 2004 Duetto on the Mk6 Transit with rwd. We originally looked at the older ones on the Mk5 when we first started looking at motorcaravans, but all in our price range were definitely shall we say "well used" & showing their age. So when we spotted a monococque Talisman locally that was in excellent condition, low mileage for age, in our price range we jumped at it. Had that for 6 years but last year went to the Malvern motorhome show, spotted a 2004 Duetto with less than 40k miles & in showroom condition, fell in love with it & immediately blew our savings on it. Just b4 all the s/hand prices went through the roof! We reckon the build quality & materials used were at Autosleepers peak, better than the the older ones (though they were good) & far better than much more recent ones. Could do with more storage (had to rationalise after the Talisman - couldn't believe the amount we got into that when we emptied it!) but we added a small back-box for the lighter outside stuff.

We have a Pollensa on a RWD Mk6 Transit, which we're very fond of. Like you, we looked at various earlier models (mainly on Peugeot base vehicles), but I've driven Transits for work and liked them, so when a low mileage, late model Transit turned up in good condition (and not rusty) we were delighted. I'm not an expert, but I reckon from around 2000 up to the banking crisis in 2008 the A-S build quality was very good. The Transits all have the same vulnerability to rust. We've had ours Dinitrol treated to try and slow the inevitable decline.TrickyWoo wrote:We love our 2004 Duetto on the Mk6 Transit with rwd.
