Re: Waste water not draining away
I haven't tried pushing a wire or knitting needle into the open waste water tap but give that a go as there could be a blockage in the tap. If this doesn't work unclip and pull apart the push fit waste water pipes between the waste water tank and its drain tap but get ready to collect waste water as it comes out of the tank. Then clear the pipes and tap of any blockage and refit. If nothing comes out of the waste water tank and you are sure there is water in it, try poking a piece of wire or knitting needle up into the tank to break up any blockage and then reassemble the pipes and waste water tap.Plymouthwelshboy wrote:Water isnt draining from our sink or from the waste drain pipe outside. You need a sink plunger initially. If you haven't got one, use the palm of your hand over the
sink outlet......with some water in the sink. Pump it up and down repeatedly.

Plymouthboy - just seen this more detailed post from you under 'technical'
Hello folks. Water won't drain from kitchen sink. Won't drain out if waste tanker either when you turn grey waste tap. We have an autosleeper Broadway EB 2019 model. Have taken external pipe off external waste tank and water just trickles out. Have gently stuck wire inside and it seems.clear....anyone have any ideas or suggestions? We are relative newbies to motorhoming. Many thanks in advance. Steve
It's not clear if water is draining freely from your shower or wash basin and whether this water is flowing freely out of the waste water tank. If it is all flowing freely this suggests you have a blockage below the sink in which case follow the above plunger advice.
It's also not clear whether there is significant water in the waste water tank. Tapping the tank or looking at the water levels on the EC700 CP should give a good indication.

Re: Waste water not draining away
Thank you everyone. The tank sensors were reporting empty tank. The water was flowing out of bathroom sink and shower but not kitchen sink. The water wouldn't flow out when the external waste tap was turned open. I took off the pipes below connected to waste tank and water just trickled out. I stuck some wire up there but didn't feel any resistance. I checked external plastic pipes, taking them all apart. We also did the plunging bit with our hand.
Ive managed to get water draining from kitchen sink. The water is now slowly dribbling out of the external pipes from waste tank. So I'll continue to try and sort out that. Thanks for all your help everyone. We are at a loss as we religiously clean plates etc of debris before they go in the sink.....still we are making progress. Sorry to disturb u all and thanks for your help. Appreciated

Is there not a waste trap under the sink (through the drop down top cupboard)?
Maybe wants emptying.

As your new to motorhoming, be aware if the van isn’t level then the sinks will be have problems draining depending on which way the pipes run.

I would avoid a plunger if possible. The previous owner of our van broke the plastic sink around the waste outlet by using a plunger. Those plastic sinks become quite brittle as they age.KMRTOPAZ wrote:You need a sink plunger initially. If you haven't got one, use the palm of your hand over the

Re: Waste water not draining away
I have got into the habit now of before leaving a pitch, normally at the end of a trip, of filling the sink to the brim and then pulling the plug. I then do the same with the hand basin. I keep the waste water tank drain open and collect the water in a bucket. I repeat the exercise until clean water flows into the bucket.Plymouthwelshboy wrote:....We are at a loss as we religiously clean plates etc of debris before they go in the sink.....

Following a recommendation by 'Quilter' we saw on this forum, at the end of a trip we've started using the last hot water in the tank to dissolve a dishwasher tablet in the sink. Drain it into the waste tank and let it slosh about on the journey home. Then drain out the gunk. Most effective, unlike disinfectants, it doesn't just kill smelly bacteria, it removes the grease etc. in the pipes and tank.

I also got the idea from 'Quilter' and use the last of the hot water but so far haven't tried a dishwasher tablet.Slow-Lane wrote:Following a recommendation by 'Quilter' we saw on this forum, at the end of a trip we've started using the last hot water in the tank to dissolve a dishwasher tablet in the sink. waste water tank
hello there, just seen your post about your waste tank, ours was the same opened up the waste tap outside and nothing came out, to cut a long story short the tank was gunged up so just put tank cleaner into it via the sink, shower and drove it about for a while to mix it all up and that done the trick, hope this helps. cheers
