Add additional leisure batteries to Symphony
Hi just wondering if anyone has added any additional leisure batteries to their symphony and if so where you located them and what your setup was. Thanks

Can't think where you could locate an additional battery especially if you have the safe under passenger seat. If no safe then that may be a suitable place if sufficient height .

I have no safe so that may be an option, another option might be to create a battery box between the seats, im wondering if id need to upgrade the vehicle alternator and the battery charger that runs off EHU if i did so however and it might be more hassle than it’s worth

Re: Add additional leisure batteries to Symphony
My Symbol came with one 85amp battery which I found useless as I spend all the time off grid.
I managed to fit 2 x 40 watt solar panels on the limited roof space, I also managed to shoehorn in 2 x 110amp batteries, 1 under the driver's seat & 1 in the area containing the water heater & the Eberspacher.
This I find more than ample for my needs as I don't watch the rubbish on TV & all the light tubes now contain LEDs.
I didn't need to change the alternator & the existing battery charger is OK when the van is in the garden during the dark winter months,

I am trying to get the hang of posting photos. These last images are of the area under the driver's seat

This photo is of the area under the sofa containing the water heater & Eberspacher.
It might look dodgy but I have slabs of insulating material surrounding the batteries which have been removed to take photo[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

I can't see a mention of them so I will add that for fire protection reasons there should be 25A fuses in the positive lead connecting the batteries as near as possible to each of the batteries +ve terminal.
