Gel batteries upgrade for Kingham Empty Gel batteries upgrade for Kingham

Atm I have 3x lead acid batteries along with a sterling 60amp B2B charger, and the built in AC-DC charger that comes built into the Kingham.
So if I changed to Gel batteries would I need to change the built in AC-DC charger as I'm not sure if it is capable /supports charging of Gel batteries?

You need to ask the battery supplier for the charge profile for the gel batteries, this should be in the form of voltages for the bulk, absorption and float charging voltages, you can then compare this to your charger output voltages. You may then be able to configure the charger profile/output voltages to suit any required changes, if any?

OK thanks, I never knew gel batteries used different charge profiles, per manufacturer, I'll drop them an e. Mail

I've actually just looked at the batterty spec sheet and it says
[th]Ideal Charge Voltage[/th]
14.1-14.7v

[th]Top Up Charge Voltage[/th]
13.5-13.8v

[th]Voltage[/th]
12V

Also does anyone have any experience with Exide batteries, or any other makes of Gel batteries.
