VW Topaz 2001
Hi All,
We have a missing the infill cushion that fits between the driver and passenger seats. Could anybody send us photos and dimensions to enable us to knock up a new one?
Thanks in anticipation,
Clive & Gill

Than you for your quick reply.
The cushion is a strange thing that fits between the front seats with a bracket on one side and a leg underneath.

Are you still looking for this? I have a T5 Topaz and have the cushion you are looking for. It's in a bag on top of the wardrobe just now, but I can get it down and take some photos and measurements if you like.

I hope the sketch is clear enough. Mine is a T5 so the dimensions may be slightly different, but it will give you a starting point.

Yep very clear. It would have a bracket at one end and a leg at the other and is rectangular. I have a photo from above courtesy of Google. But as yet failed to add it!!

Funny how these things go missing, our Duetto was missing the exact same piece, although different in shape and fitting, along with the jack, wheel brace and jack handle which also doubles as the tool to lower the spare wheel!
What possesses people to hang on to these when selling a vehicle!

Re: VW Topaz 2001
If you use single bed layout, no need for the fill in cushions so people put them in the loft and forget about them. A local resident sold his Topaz some years ago and two years later found the cushions in his loft, he managed to trace his buyer through this forum and passed the on. Buyers need to ask to be shown how beds are made up , then it may jog memories if they aren't in the van.Grabea wrote:Funny how these things go missing, our Duetto was missing the exact same piece, although different in shape and fitting, along with the jack, wheel brace and jack handle which also doubles as the tool to lower the spare wheel!

We knew there were missing cushions, the previous owner never used the bed either!! Could be why eh? We made a new back cushion for sofa but we’re unsure of the mechanics of the little cushion. But Richards photos show a folding bracket, so game on! I can make a replacement, even found a suitable bracket in eBay.

Re: VW Topaz 2001
We never use the full width bed, it makes it far too complex a manoeuvre to get out of bed in the dark for a pee which is why our cushions live on top of a wardrobe. We also find the settee back cushion makes the seat too narrow so don't bother with that either.

We use the front seat infills as a thinner settee back( covered with a throw ) and at night they fulfill their ritefull duty.

Yes, will do in the morning. They are simply wedge shaped cushions that level up the front seats so your feet stay level. About 1 1/2" to nothing for the width of the seat.

Re: VW Topaz 2001
These is the infill cushion. They are the same size as the seat bases, flat on the top and shaped underneath so they fit into the hollow if the seat base to[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] give a flat surface on the top. One has the extra bit of cushion which fills in the slight gap between the seat and the long settee cushion. The other doesn't have the extra bit. I would say you wouldn't miss it if it wasn't there.

Hi,
Thank you so much for your help with the extra fill in cushions. We’re well in with making the cushion between the front seats. We’ll have think about seat infill cushions. I’ll post a pic when they’re done.
Thanks again,
Clive & Gill.
