roof aerial on topaz T4 2001
The aerial lead has been broken in the roof section between roof and head lining. Any ideas how to gain access to this area to fit a joining connection. Regards Tom.

I don't know specifically about the Topaz, but it's likely to be similar to other high-top models: generally A/S do not make any special provision to access connections like this. If you look carefully at the way the roof lining panels overlap, you can deduce the order that they have to be removed in order to get access. On the Flair I owned a few years ago, this entailed removing both side trim panels first, as they overlap the upper roof lining panels.

HiĀ
Where is it mounted exactly? If it’s at the front like mine (see avatar) this information may help (or not as the case may be).
I did mine a while ago. A different van but I looked at a 2001 Topaz for sale on Tinternet and the construction looks similar so this may help.
My procedure was:
Remove the storage rails on each side. They are fixed by plastic screw blocks on the inside.
Remove the cross panel that holds the door to the over cab storage, again held by screw blocks on the inside.
The roof panel needed to be removed. As I remember there were some of the usual wood screws covered by screw caps that are used all over the van. Can’t remember the exact details but they were fairly obvious.
The roof panel on mine was in one piece running back to the front skylight so I had to remove the lower part of the skylight (it was in the way) and slide the panel backwards to reveal the aerial fixings.
The lower part of the skylight was a separate part and came away from the top section without affecting the top section or the roof seal.
Re-assembly as they say was the reverse of removal.

Hi, Thank you both for the info, looks as though I have to try the liner removal as this ties in with my design roof panel.
Regards Tom.
