Teleco Aerial and Signal Booster
Hi
We have a Teleco Aerial X2/39 fitted to our Broadway. We much prefered the aet up on our last motorhome (Nuevo) which had a vision plus booster/signal finder.
Is it possible to fit a Vision Plus signal amplifier (VP4 or 5) to a Teleco aerial? We have made a few phone calls to various companies and are getting conflicting advice so thought would ask on here if anyone has combined these two pieces with any success?
Cheers.

Re: Teleco Aerial and Signal Booster
I haven't combined these two elements but see no reason why they shouldn't work together. The antenna is a passive device, ie it takes no power and simply outputs a UHF signal. TV signal amplifiers are designed to work with pretty much any form of UHF antenna. I guess it's the signal finder function you find helpful, which Teleco don't include with their amplifiers.
I hesitate to raise the issue of signal impedance as it's beyond the scope of this post, but in simple terms the electrical resistance (impedance in antenna-speak) should be matched between the two elements otherwise signal losses will occur. I can't see this being a problem as this type of kit is almost universally designed to have a signal impedance of 75 ohms.
If you want complete assurance I recommend you ask Vision Plus and /or Teleco. Another option would be to stick with the Teleco combo and add a cheap UHF signal strength meter, which you can pick up on the web for around £10-15.
