New tyres fitted
I had the new tyres fitted to the van, I went for the Continental 4 season 2 225//75/16 121
Load rated 10ply rated, cost £186.30 each total price with my Veterans discount card was £670.68 so another good saving, they have a very good tread pattern and are 3 peaks recommended
Old tyres where Continental vanco 100

First impressions on leaving the fitters was that they were more sure footed and quieter on the road, I will report back after sticking some mileage and use on grass

Thanks for that. Often with these types of tyres the downside is increase noise levels and a drop in MPG.FreelanderUK wrote:First impressions on leaving the fitters was that they were more sure footed and quieter on the road, I will report back after sticking some mileage and use on grass

Re: New tyres fitted
Old thread I know but still relevant.
I am thinking about getting these tyres, how are you finding them nearly 2 years on, love to know your thoughts. I to have a Warwick XL with the Continental vanco 100 215/75/r16 on Peugeot alloys am I right in thinking the Continental 4 season 2 225//75/16 will fit on my existing alloys.

Re: New tyres fitted
Is it that long still hurting from paying for them
I am very pleased and would recommend, Road noise is very quiet, have held there pressure all that time, still feel as though the van is firmly gripping the road when cornering and have been excellent in the wet on the roads,
We have used them on grass fields and sites and they have copped well in the damp and wet, we had to be towed of a few weeks ago but every other van on the site had too also
The ride doesn’t feel hard and I had the van weighed so I could use the correct pressure accordingly to each axle weight, mpg is around 28 when not towing the car, this is done on a brim method and not the onboard computer
I would buy these again

Been told these are very good, "Toyo Observe Van". Still very pleased with my Bridgstone Duravis. Michelin I will pass by thank you.
So next time? If there is a next time.

Good to see someone else using accuracy, not unfounded guesses, as part of the fuel consumption figures btw. So many 36mpg guesses on here!!!!

I have always found Toyo tyres to have a soft rubber compound and wear really fast

Maybe right, but how many of us actually wear our tyres out before it's time to change them due to old age, ( of the tyres).FreelanderUK wrote:

I’m at a measured 32.09 MPG, over 10,633 miles. That accurate enough for youIanH wrote:Good to see someone else using accuracy, not unfounded guesses, as part of the fuel consumption figures btw. So many 36mpg guesses on here!!!!

Recently fitted Continental Van Contact Camper 225/75/16 to our Kemerton XL to replace Van Contact 100's before venturing across channel through France, Belguim to Netherlands. Running 65PSI all round ride was impressed by improvement in ride & found them very quiet but then the road surfaces particually in the Netherlands are so good! no pot holes! Was quite an eye opener when we came back to UK to start our favourite game "miss the pot holes". Some of the improvement in ride could be the Contact 100's had hardened over time - 7 years old?

Soon as you hit the M20, if travelling via Tunnel etc you sure know you are home, not only potholes but tar joints every few yards.mikee wrote:Recently fitted Continental Van Contact Camper 225/75/16 to our Kemerton XL to replace Van Contact 100's before venturing across channel through France, Belguim to Netherlands.
