4g antenna fitted
I managed to get the Poynting puck 2 antenna from eBay for next to nothing using my nectar points, I fitted it to the cross bat that I have holding my solar panel with the supplied mounting bracket and ran the cable along the bar and in under the skylight ( this is covered by the solar so always on vent position), the mifi was fitted with velcro to the sky light surround,
A 2 meter usb charge lead was routed and stuck in place with hot melt glue and the sky light surround removed to pass the lead under it and then replaced ,no dangling cables and a neat finish, just plugs into a usb charger in the cigarette socket behind the tv, the cable across the padded ceiling is held in place by 2 tie wraps ,ceiling screws loosened, folded the tie wraps over the cable then then just clamped in place when the screws re-tightened [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.][/url]

Re: 4g antenna fitted
That’s a nice neat job. I would be very interested in how much difference you think it makes. We have recently come back from the Dales on our first 2 week holiday in our van mostly off grid. We used a EE mifi router mounted inside the van every evening for watching tv and browsing. I was quite surprised that we managed to do this with out losing a signal. However I think we were probably just lucky and a external antenna is definitely on my shopping list for the near future.
Thanks Ian

Re: 4g antenna fitted
I have 2 Vodafone contracts ,one in my phone and one in the mifi , I tested them both together, the built in speed tester on the Vodafone app on the phone and the oolkla speed test on my iPad connected to the mifi
4g showing 2 bars on phone and mifi
Phone speed was 3.6MBit/s
Mifi speed was. 5.4 MBit/s
Upload was around the 2MBit/s
Tried this 4 times and results was all in the similar speed
These are more use when out in the sticks as you have more chance of getting a signal
