Nuevo 2004 - a few questions
Hi again
We have viewed the Nuevo this morning and loved it. As it is 17 years old we have decided to get it professionally inspected (both mechanical and habitation) as, like many, it has been idle for some time.
First question - does anyone have a suggestion for a company that will provide both inspections? We have found Habcheck but options never hurt.
Secondly, we would like to upgrade the radio to an apple CarPlay unit with reverse camera - has anyone suggestions of appropriate units?
The kitchen cupboard door rubbed on the plastic moulding making up the door step. Is this easily fixed?
Finally, we felt that the long fluorescent lights looked a little “used” in comparison to everything else. Are there more modern looking led replacements anyone can recommend?
Thank you all for your help :-)

Re: Nuevo 2004 - a few questions
It's hard to be sure which type of fluorescent lamp you mean because A/S change the spec of their vans frequently, but if you mean the oval-shaped ones with a chrome or gold-coloured cap at each end, they are probably Lumo Ellipse. An LED replacement for these was made until recently but, as I understand it, the company stopped trading a short while ago, so that may no longer be an option.
However, there are still other options. I converted the one in the Trooper to LEDs and resprayed the chromed part to make it look more presentable. But the diffuser is very much prone to yellowing, which is impossible to fix, in my experience. However, you may be able to replace them with a more recent LED fitting - such as the LED version of the LabCraft Trilite. There are slimmer alternatives, but you may find that the old fitting leaves behind too much of a witness mark for that to be an option, in cosmetic terms.

That sounds like the ones
I’m not worried about a difference is size as I was thinking it was a simple solution to “layer” something as a cosmetic base if that makes sense?

I own a 2004 Nuevo, and I think the spares problem is with the previous model of Boxer.

Yes you can upgrade the stereo to whatever you like. We did to ours so we had DAB and able to play music from iPods etc. When I was doing this a few people posted how you can’t because of canbus, and the replacement will drain the vehicle battery etc . Probably well intended but proved to be nonsense. It works great.

Halfords will do it for you including adaptor for steering controls if you have them.

We were trying to work out whether the recess that the current stereo is in would stop the screen on one of the single din units from sliding out and locating?Adam & Emily wrote:Yes you can upgrade the stereo to whatever you like. Assuming a double din doesn’t fit that is!
