Did it on a Harmony, using roll of film from ebay
Seriously clean glass, then use credit card or similar to lay film
Worked well and cost peanuts, trim edges with new blade in scalpel

With the T4-based Trooper you're lucky that the screens are a little bit simpler than the later vans, but you would need to be very careful when removing the blinds/screens. They are quite fragile, even when only a few years old.
It's very much a matter of personal taste, but I would not choose to go for "limo tint" - IMO it would make the back of the van too dark in "typical" UK weather.

Why do people bother with tinting windows, is this some fashion thing?
OK on a bright sunny day by the Med, but here in the dank, overcast UK, "Dark Hole of Calcutta" springs to mind.
As for security, possibly darkened windows would whet the appetite of a would be thief, I always leave nothing on view and even leave the shower door open.

Fitting "limo tint" is fairly common among T5 owners as well, and the most commonly quoted reason is privacy.
If you're going to try it, tint film is the best way to do it, IMO, because if it doesn't work out it is generally quite easy to strip tint film off glass. Most T5 self-converters seem to fit tinted glass, and that's not so easy to undo!

I doubt it - a very expensive solution when tint film is so cheap - though of course the film is not as durable.
We had one window on our T5 cut out and replaced (not to tint, but to fix the notorious VW leaking sliding windows!) and that was around £300, so to do the whole van would need a fair wedge, I would think.
