Tyre Pressure Monitor
At last found a local tyre specialist who knows all about the TPMS system on my 2015 BoxerQ Quoting £70.00 per wheel to change valves and re-clone, best offer yet. Being done in January will let you know if successful if anybody interested.
Mine now tells me 3 tyres are low pressure at 79psi!

Re: Tyre Pressure Monitor
Is that £280 to fit 4x new TPMS valves/sensors, or does that include something else as well?

Re: Tyre Pressure Monitor
Dear me! That's a nasty shock!
I, too, have a 2015 Nuevo ES, so I suppose my TPMS tyre valves will need to be replaced sooner rather than later - albeit so far, so good. But I had no idea that new / reset valves would cost that much. Is it always necessary to fit new ones when fitting new tyres - as they are metal valves, not plastic?
I look forward to the answer to the question posed above by Steve928.

Re: Tyre Pressure Monitor
The valve stem and sensor are an integral unit (the stem serves as the antenna) so are replaced as one.
The OEM Schrader ones are expensive but there are cheaper alternatives out there; I have these (link below) in my winter wheels @ £54 for 4, or the Autel ones at about £22 each have a good reputation.

Fitting just requires the tyre bead to be pushed down, the valve exchanged and then the tyre re-inflated.
Nothing else is needed - just fit the new ones and drive and the system will accept them.

Re: Tyre Pressure Monitor
Steve 928 the solution seems simple after the multitude of posts on this subject!
Price is for each wheel....kwikfit quoted more but didn’t really know the problem, my price is local Pro Tyre ,I tried many places including Peugeot dealer and nobody knew about the valves.
Price now seems a lot but best I can find, didn’t know they were self setting either.
Will be pleased to get rid of the messages every time I start engine.

Re: Tyre Pressure Monitor
Yes it's all automatic as long as compatible sensors are used.
There's no need to clone existing sensor IDs as the TPMS module will learn the new sensor IDs within a couple of miles, just as it does when wheels are swapped to different positions.

I ordered new valves way back in December via the E Bay link, not arrived yet, they are saying 8 weeks delivery.....looks like from Germany!
I blame Brexit.

Re: Tyre Pressure Monitor
I've a lower tech system. Valve extenders plus valve cap pressure indicators that change from green through amber to red. For me a quick glance at the tyres to check all is green, so no problem. Granted they don't give me real time in the cab data but, a low cost alternative solution.

Re: Tyre Pressure Monitor
These are fine if you don't have the Peugeot system. If you have the Peugeot system with a warning light on the dash it has to work to pass an MOT. The Peugeot system doesn't give real time pressure. If it is triggered by a low pressure it will briefly state the pressure at the time of triggering. Subsequent updates are not seen until the ignition is turned off and on again when it will show the last recorded pressure when driven rather than the current pressure.HertsPhil wrote:I've a lower tech system. Re: Tyre Pressure Monitor
This may be irrelevant but make sure the tyre fitters have dealt with tyre pressure monitors before. Our daughter took her mini to a tyre centre to have a puncture repaired. After this the tyre pressure warning was constantly showing low pressure on one tyre, the one she had repaired.
After taking her car back to the tyre centre several times with the same result. It’s not our fault it’s the system on the car that needs re programming.
After taking it to the garage we use they confirmed the censor on the wheel was faulty. When the tyre was removed by another tyre centre they found the sensor had been damaged. She never did get any compensation. Just getting the problem resolved was enough.

Re. " The Peugeot system doesn't give real time pressure. "
I've almost finished making a system to display real time pressures and temperatures from the Peugeot system on any device (Andoid/IOS) via wifi. It's using a Pi processor and an RTL-SDR (software defined radio) USB stick to listen in to the broadcasts from the in-wheel sensors. All values are updated every 30 seconds once the wheels are rolling.
It's working great but isn't quite ready for releasing to the world yet..
