Tyre pressure on a Auto sleeper Devon on Merc
Hello, I would appreciate if someone could tell me what the tyre pressure should be for this motor home fully loaded.
This is my first motor home purchased 3 weeks ago on a 58 plate. We are off to France soon and panicking about tyre pressure and how to fit the Europe headlight converter.
Kind regards,
Richard

Hi ,and welcome to the forum. There are many posts on tyre pressures, try the search function.
You should have a sticker on your vehicle with recommended pressures. Again in your handbook.
regards
Mike

Tyre pressure
Thanks Mike. but I think that both the manufacturer instructions book as well as the instructions on the side of the driver s seat refer to a Merc Sprinter van and not an Autosleeper motor home. I may be wrong. It should be so simple really.

Hi , Well its best to weigh your vehicle when its loaded. Plenty of weighbridge sites.
Then look up on our chart against your tyre sizes and weight.
This will give you your pressures.
Knowing your weight will mean you can make sure you are not overloaded.

Mike

On Page 3 of the Austosleepers Owners Manual for the Devon it says
"Automotive - Mercedes
For all automotive matters you should refer to
the Mercedes vehicle instructions manual.
This includes tyre pressures, referring to the
type of tyres fitted.
The Auto-Sleeper conversion does not affect
the tyre pressures in any way as it is built
within the design envelope of the base
vehicle."
Seems pretty simple to me!

Richard,
Mike is correct - ideally you should have your weighed (both front and rear axel loads).
Then use the chart on the following link to get the correct pressures for your loading.
(This assuming your vehicle is fitted with continental tyres)
https://www.autosleeper-ownersforum.com/t8962-continental-tyre-pressure-charts
Take no notice of what your Mercedes manual says - they build vehicles, they dont develop tyres and they have no idea what load you are carrying!
