Hab Door Locking Problem...
All
We have a 2007 Nuevo and when I lock the motorhome with the key fob, the cab doors lock but not the hab door.
Can anyone point me in the right direction or advise what the problem could be?
Thanks, Nick.

Hi Jim
It had never locked with the key fob in 18 months since we have had it but surprisingly last week I locked up and the hab door had locked!!! This was once in over 200 times I must admit!!!

That’s interesting Nick, so you would guess that it is supposed to work on the key fob, which makes perfect sense.
I think a little more investigation may be needed...

Re: Hab Door Locking Problem...
Can you gather more information on the keyfob operation from your base vehicle owners manual?

Mine is a Sigma system it is not the base system key.
I have a look at the information I have but nothing that tells me what is covered on the fob system but I would expect it to cover the hab door but of course that does not mean it does.

Have a look high up on the door frame on the opening side, and you should see three little brass contact pins, with a corresponding set on the door itself.
Assuming your van has these (and I think it does) try cleaning them with a bit of that slightly abrasive kitchen pan cleaner, or something not too aggressive. Then give them a smear of WD40 to slow down the corrosion in future.
Hopefully, perhaps, the problem will be solved.

Re: Hab Door Locking Problem...
If it is a Sigma system then it may have an aftermarket locking solenoid. That could be sticking or its power may be dodgy as Gromit suggests. But the power could also be a cable across the door hinge as on my 2012 van.

Re: Hab Door Locking Problem...
Hi all
Thank you for your replies.
As Gromit suggested, when I looked high up on the frame & door I spotted the pins. On inspection they were quite dirty so I cleaned them up and sprayed WD40 on them. Unfortunately this didn’t work. On closer inspection, the two sets of contacts didn’t seem to quite line up for some reason. So I unscrewed the contacts on the actual door (which had two small cables coming from it), moved them a couple of mill higher so they lined up and tried again. Hey presto job done :-)))
Cheers...

I had the same problem Gromit and your solution worked a treat.Gromit wrote:Have a look high up on the door frame on the opening side, and you should see three little brass contact pins, with a corresponding set on the door itself.

I think it's certainly worth checking the supply cable as I had a similar problem which turned out to be one of the wires coming adrift from it's spade connector. Spade connector is quite small but I was able to obtain some from a motor vehicle spares shop. You may also need to be handy with a soldering iron if that's your problem.
