Shelves for Nuevo EK
Hi there - lockdown eh! What to do.... Well, tweak our recently acquired Nuevo EK of course. Great overhead cupboards - very spacious - but we thought they would benefit from shelves to make it easier to pack items/clothes. Thought you might like to see the end result. Right, job done - back to twiddling my thumbs until we get out of lockdown and can travel again. Stay safe!

Looks good I think I’ll take a break from railway modelling the next decent day we have and do the same mod to the cupboards.
Being going to do it for four years.

Classy job! I'm full of admiration - because when we got our Nuevo I wanted the same in all 7 of the overhead lockers, but my carpentry tuition ended at form 2. So I got a professional to do the job, and it's been invaluable. Well done, Ailsaj!

Hi, nice job ,I cheated and bought some metal extending shelves from Aldi/ Lidl !!
They where only a few pounds each.

They look really nice. So far we have made do with these which have brought a bit of order to our upper kitchen lockers. They fit end on with space alongside for tall items.

Nice job, not dissimilar to my efforts, but I brought the shelf width to the inward edge. They are just short of contact with the door when closed. They effectively contain whatever is in the upper compartment.
Also made dedicated shelves in one upper cupboard to hold/restrain plates bowls, glasses and mugs. Prevents movement and reduces noise. The latter is work in progress.

Neat job, but it makes you wonder why shelves in the overhead lockers were dropped. Maybe to offset something useless such as a waste water tank level indicator..
In my earlier Nuevo all but one of the lockers has lipped shelves as standard. Being part of the original construction also makes the lockers stronger.
