Warranty milage limits
Hi all,
Picking up New Kingham 4t in March 2021. Had Swift RS590 before. But first New van and totally confused by warranties. Apologies if this is posted in the wrong place but this forum thing us also new to me.
I tried to find the info but couldn't.
So here goes.
I appear to be going to get a 3 year warranty (UK Fiat PVC). This i think is for 100,000km. Now the confusing bit. I can buy extra warranty. 1,2 or 3 years with 37,000 km for a year, 48,00 for 2 years up to 3 years at 60,000km. So as you have 3 years already do I only need to purchase 2 years to get to the 5 year max and does that mean I only get 48,000km from mew or is that the 100,000 of the original warranty plus 48,000 so 148,000 in total.
I know major huge first post sorry but confused.com about this. Also seen reference to 125,000 km warranty with various options but that appears to be work van not camper. Head exploding especially as only 15 days to sort from DVLA first registration.
Hope the above babel makes sense. Greatful for any info if anyone understands this warranty system fully.
Thanks All.

Blimey! I don't think many Motorhomes do that many miles in their entire lifetime

Hopefully ours will. Old Swift Sundance RS590 we owned had just shy of 90,000 miles on her and we hadn't used her at all for last 3 years due to work commitments. Still running fine and just given to daughter who will now add some more to the clock with her hubby.

Have you got that information from AS or Fiat? The AS website warranty page doesn't give Fiat, only Peugeot (or Merc or VW) and that simply says you get 3 years unlimited mileage. With the base vehicles made in same factory (albeit with different engines) I would hope same warranty. I'd get AS to answer.

We have a Warwick XL Auto 2020 which is on a Fiat base. The vehicle base has a 2 year warranty (maybe this has increased to 3 years on a 2021 model, Fiat Professional should be able to confirm that) and the conversion has a 3 year warranty. There is also an AS water ingress warranty which is 6 years and Fiat anti perforation warranty of 8 years.
The Consumers Rights Act 2015 provides protection (diminishing over time) for 6 years as a UK purchaser.
Enjoy your new van when you get it!

Hi Paul,
Info gleaned from Fiat Pro, ASOF posts and other websites. That was the reason for asking as it seems so many sources offer so many different opinions.

Re: Warranty milage limits
I've got a Fiat based Fairford one week ago. Fiat warranty is just 2 years. I paid £1200 to add 3 years to get 5 years. A bit pricey! It was less than half that to add 2 years. It does cover normal servicing as well as breakdown cover and repair. I can scan the details if you want to see the small print. I had to visit the local Fiat professional dealer to set it all up.
